1. Product Overview
Oil pipes are high-strength special steel pipes dedicated to oil and gas exploration, drilling, well completion, oil production and long-distance oil & gas transportation. The industry divides them into two major categories: OCTG (downhole casing, tubing, drill pipe) and Line Pipe (surface gathering & long-distance transmission pipelines). All products are manufactured in strict compliance with international API standards, suitable for complex oil and gas working conditions such as onshore oilfields, offshore platforms, deep wells, high-sulfur reservoirs, high-temperature high-pressure wells and low-temperature permafrost zones, serving as core pressure-bearing components of oil and gas projects.

2. Product Categories, Functions and Standards
(1) OCTG Downhole Pipes (API 5CT / API 5DP)
1. Casing
Consumes over 70% of total OCTG, used for one-time well cementation.
Function: Support borehole walls to prevent collapse, isolate different strata, block formation water and oil-gas crossflow, protect underground water and bear wellhead equipment load. It is divided into conductor pipe, surface casing, intermediate casing and production casing.
Executive Standards: API Spec 5CT, API Spec 5B (thread standard)

2. Tubing
Placed inside casing to transport oil and gas to ground, reusable after tripping out.
Function: Exploit crude oil and natural gas, conduct oilfield water injection, acidizing and fracturing; isolate produced media and reduce inner wall corrosion of casing. Available in plain end tubing and external upset (EU) tubing.
Standards: API 5CT, API 5B
Steel Grades: J55, N80, L80, C90, T95, P110

3. Drill Pipe & Drill Collar for Drilling
Drill Pipe (API 5DP): Transmit torque and circulate drilling fluid; steel grades E75, X95, G105, S135
Drill Collar: Add weight to apply pressure on drill bits, made of 4145H alloy steel with high rigidity and bending resistance
(2) API Line Pipe for Surface Oil & Gas Transmission
Function: Oilfield gathering pipelines, long-distance cross-regional oil & gas trunk lines, subsea oil & gas transmission pipelines, water injection pipelines for crude oil, natural gas and sewage transportation.
Standard: API Spec 5L, classified into PSL1 (conventional inspection) and PSL2 (strict non-destructive testing for high-end projects)
Steel Grades: Gr.B, X42, X52, X60, X65, X70, X80 (figures stand for yield strength in ksi)
Manufacturing Types: Seamless Pipe (SMLS), Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded Pipe (LSAW), Electric Resistance Welded Pipe (ERW), Spiral Submerged Arc Welded Pipe (SSAW)

3. Production Process & Material Performance
1. Manufacturing Process
Seamless Oil Pipe: Round billet heating → piercing → hot rolling / cold drawing → sizing → heat treatment → flaw detection → thread turning → coupling assembly
Welded Line Pipe: Steel plate/strip forming → submerged arc / electric resistance welding → weld inspection → expanding, heat treatment and anti-corrosion treatment
2. Core Mechanical Performance Requirements
High tensile & yield strength: Avoid burst and tensile fracture under deep well high pressure
Superior collapse resistance: Resist formation extrusion and salt rock creep deformation
SSCC sulfide stress cracking resistance: C90/T95 sulfur-resistant grades applicable to high-sulfur oil and gas fields
Low-temperature impact toughness: Prevent brittle fracture for X-series line pipes and low-temperature well dedicated steel
Reliable thread sealing: Premium connections maintain air tightness under high pressure without leakage

Mechanical tensile test, impact test, hardness test and SSCC anti-sulfur corrosion test

6. Surface Treatment & Packaging
Conventional pipes: Inner and outer surface coated with anti-rust oil and black anti-rust paint

Threads of casing & tubing: Coated with anti-rust grease and equipped with plastic thread protectors
Packaging: Bundled with steel strips, wrapped with green waterproof tarpaulin, plastic end caps at both ends, shipped in full containers to avoid collision and rust during sea transportation
