German technical background VOK®-AP 531 wax auxiliary
VOK® -AP 531 is a non-ionic emulsion based on modified polyethylene wax that improves the surface properties of waterborne printing inks and coatings. Anti-caking additive in thermoplastic and hot melt adhesives.

Features and benefits
In water-based coatings, the additive improves scratch resistance. In printing inks, it is particularly resistant to abrasion. Surface slip and anti-blocking are also improved.

2-5% additive (purchased form) based on total paint formulation.

It is best to add at a low shear rate at the end of production. The product should be mixed well before use.
Adhesives
Features and benefits
VOK® -AP 531 is used as an anti-blocking additive in the underwater granulation process of hot melt adhesives to obtain free-flowing and non-sticking granular materials. It can be added directly to the cooling water, easy to operate, and does not generate dust.
Recommended dosage
0.5-5% additive (purchased form) is based on the amount of water used in the cooling circulation duct.
The above recommended addition amount is for reference, and the suitable addition amount needs to be determined by a series of tests.
Incorporation method and processing guidance
The additive is added directly to the circulating line water. If foam occurs in the circulating water, we recommend using the defoamer VOK® -DF 023 (silicone defoamer) or VOK® -DF 016 (non-silicone defoamer) in an amount of 0.05-0.3%.

Features and benefits
Granular thermoplastics (TPE, TPU, EVA) tend to agglomerate and agglomerate under pressure and heat. VOK® -AP 531 is used in the underwater granulation process of thermoplastics, it forms a protective layer that envelops the pellets, thus forming non-sticking and free-flowing pellets. Unlike conventional pellets wrapped with solid release agents (talc, mica), the amount of pellets used is significantly reduced, avoiding performance effects on thermoplastic materials. Dust generated during processing is also avoided. In the underwater granulation process, if foam occurs, we recommend using the defoamer VOK® -DF 023 (silicone defoamer) or VOK® -DF 016 (non-silicone defoamer) in an amount of 0.05-0.3%.
Recommended dosage 0.2-5%
