VOK®-3700 Silicone surface additive for improved cleanability of solventborne coatings. Contains hydroxyl functional groups, which have a good easy-to-clean effect after crosslinking.

Features and benefits The good surfactivity of the additive causes spontaneous migration of the additive to the surface of the coating. It also contains OH functional groups that can crosslink with the corresponding binders. If the additive is immobilized on the surface of the coating by its reactive functional groups, the special properties it brings have good long-term effect.
VOK®-3700 increases the water and oleophobia of coatings in most coating systems. In addition, the additive can also reduce the dust retention of the paint film and improve the ease of cleaning of the coating film. The additive can improve the substrate wetting ability of the coating, leveling, surface slip, water resistance (anti-whitening), anti-blocking and weathering resistance. Therefore, we recommend that no additional surface additives be added when evaluating VOK®-3700, and if additional leveling additives are required, they should be added in the second step of the testing phase. VOK®-3700 can also be used to improve the anti-graffiti and tape peelability of coating films.
Recommended use
VOK®-3700 with hydroxyl functional group is recommended for solventborne topcoats. Can be crosslinked to the following resin systems: two-component polyurethane, alkyd/melamine, polyester/melamine, acrylic/melamine and acrylic epoxy blends.
Recommended dosage
3-6% additive dosage (in supply form) is based on total formulation.
The above recommended addition amount is for reference, and the suitable addition amount needs to be determined by a series of tests.
Incorporation method and processing guidance
The additive is recommended for addition at the final stage of production, where the mixing process needs to guarantee an adequate shear rate.
Special reminder
If the additive is applied in a crosslinkable resin system, it needs to be sanded evenly and thoroughly to ensure adequate interlayer adhesion when recoating.
