White silicone rubber can be used to manufacture casting mold products. Its characteristics and application advantages are as follows:
I. Material Properties of White Silicone Rubber
Color advantage: The white silicone rubber has a pure color, which is convenient for observing details (such as bubbles and patterns) during mold making. Color pastes can also be added as needed to mix other colors.
Curing types: The common ones are condensation type (tin curing) or addition type. The condensation type has a fast curing speed, while the addition type has a lower shrinkage rate (≤0.1%) and better high-temperature resistance.
Physical properties
It has good elasticity, with tensile strength ≥4MPa and tear strength ≥15N/mm. It can be repeatedly demolded without damage.
It has strong weather resistance, stable performance within the range of -50 ℃ to 200℃, and is not prone to aging.
The surface is smooth, with high replication accuracy, capable of reproducing the fine patterns of castings (such as carvings and reliefs).
Ii. Core Advantages for Casting molds
Low shrinkage rate
The shrinkage rate of addition-cured silicone rubber lines can be as low as 0.05%, and that of condensation type is usually ≤0.3%. This can ensure that the mold size is consistent with the height of the original mold, avoiding dimensional deviations in castings due to mold deformation.
Easy demolding
Silicone rubber itself does not stick to materials such as cement and gypsum, and no additional mold release agent is required. The mold is not prone to tearing during demolding and can be reused 50 to 100 times (depending on the frequency of use and maintenance).
Wide applicability
It can be used to make molds for cement decorative pieces (such as Roman Columns, relief murals), gypsum handicrafts, resin ornaments, etc., and is especially suitable for complex shapes (such as hollowed-out and curved surface structures).
