Preparatory work: Firstly, select an appropriate original Roman column as the master mold and ensure that its surface is clean, smooth, free of oil stains, dust and other impurities. The master mold is treated with a mold release agent to ensure smooth demolding after the subsequent mold production is completed. At the same time, according to the size and shape of the Roman column, prepare the corresponding mold-making tools, such as stirring containers, stirring rods, measuring cups, etc., and accurately weigh the A and B components of RTV2 liquid silicone rubber in accordance with the product instructions.

Mixing and stirring: Pour the weighed liquid silicone rubber of Component A into the stirring container, then slowly add the curing agent of Component B, and mix according to the recommended mixing ratio (commonly 100:3, and the ratio for some products may be adjusted according to the environment and operation process). Stir thoroughly with A stirring rod to ensure that components A and B are evenly mixed. Try to avoid generating too many bubbles during the stirring process. If conditions permit, vacuum stirring equipment can be used to further remove the air bubbles in the rubber compound and improve the quality of the mold.

Injection molding: Slowly inject the well-mixed RTV2 liquid silicone rubber onto the surface of the treated master mold. During the injection process, starting from a fixed injection point, let the glue flow naturally and fill all parts of the master mold. At the same time, gently shake the mold from time to time to expel the internal air and prevent the formation of bubbles in the mold, which may affect the mold turning effect. For large Roman Columns or structurally complex parts, a phased injection method can be adopted to ensure that the adhesive liquid can fully fill every detail.

Vulcanization and curing: After the injection is completed, place the mold at room temperature for vulcanization and curing. The vulcanization time is determined by the product characteristics of RTV2 silicone rubber and the ambient temperature. Generally, it can be initially cured within a few hours. During the curing process, avoid moving or vibrating the mold to prevent affecting the molding quality of the mold. After the mold is fully cured, the next step can be carried out.

Demolding and trimming: After the mold has fully cured, carefully remove it from the master mold. Due to the excellent demolding property of RTV2 silicone rubber, the demolding process is usually quite smooth. After demolding, check if there are any defects or residual impurities on the mold surface. If necessary, use tools such as cutting tools to appropriately trim the mold, remove excess flash, burrs, etc., to ensure that the mold surface is smooth and intact, and prepare for the subsequent mold turning of the Roman column.

Roman column mold making: Fix the prepared RTV2 silicone rubber mold in the appropriate position and get ready for the Roman column mold making. According to the selected materials for making Roman Columns (such as cement, gypsum, etc.), mix and blend them in accordance with the corresponding process requirements. Slowly pour the well-mixed materials into the mold. Also, be sure to remove the air bubbles in the materials. Methods such as vibration or vacuum treatment can be adopted. After the material has solidified and taken shape in the mold, carefully remove the Roman column from the mold, and the finished product of the replicated Roman column can be obtained. Inspect the finished products. If there are surface defects, appropriate repairs and grinding can be carried out to achieve the desired decorative effect.
