Mold Usage and Maintenance Skills (Extending Service Life to over 50 times)
Before the resin cement is poured: Apply a thin layer of Vaseline (or a special mold release agent for cement) on the inner side of the mold to prevent the cement from adhering to the silicone. If there is fine dust on the surface of the mold, it can be blown clean with compressed air (avoid washing with water to prevent residual moisture from affecting the curing of cement).
Control heat release from cement: Resin cement releases heat during curing (especially in summer). It is recommended that the thickness of a single injection be ≤5cm. For large components, it should be injected 2 to 3 times (with a 2-hour interval) to prevent the mold from aging due to high temperatures.
Mold repair: If there are small cracks on the edge of the mold, a small amount of AB silicone rubber (1:1) can be mixed and applied to the crack area. After curing, it should be ground smooth. When surface wear causes details to become blurred, gently sand with fine sandpaper (800 mesh) and then apply a layer of silicone oil to restore the demolding property.
Long-term storage: After cleaning the mold, lay a layer of newspaper inside (to prevent dust), place it flat in a cool place (avoid direct sunlight, temperature ≤30℃), and do not stack heavy objects (to prevent mold deformation).
