RTV2 silicone rubber is highly suitable for manufacturing molds for reproducing cement wall tiles. Here are the reasons and related information:
Performance characteristics
Precise replication of details: RTV2 silicone rubber has low surface tension, enabling it to precisely replicate the surface details of cement wall tiles, such as textures and patterns, ensuring the accuracy of the mold and allowing the produced cement wall tiles to highly resemble the original appearance.
Low shrinkage rate: Its linear shrinkage rate is low, with the general shrinkage rate of condensation-type RTV2 silicone rubber being ≤0.3% and that of addition-type ≤0.1%, which ensures that the mold will not experience size deviations due to shrinkage during the curing process, thereby guaranteeing the size accuracy and consistency of the cement wall tiles.
Excellent mechanical properties: RTV2 silicone rubber has high tear resistance and excellent elongation, resulting in molds that are less prone to cracking and deformation. They can withstand the pressure of the cement slurry and the pulling force during demolding, allowing for multiple repeated uses and reducing production costs.
Chemical resistance: This silicone rubber has the characteristic of aging resistance to acids and alkalis, capable of resisting the alkaline substances in the cement slurry, ensuring the service life of the mold and preventing any impact on the performance and appearance of the mold due to chemical corrosion.
Easy operation: RTV2 silicone rubber is usually a two-component product. It can be operated by choosing the brush mold or pour mold method as needed. The curing process is simple, and it can be cured and formed at room temperature. The curing ratio of condensation-type mold silicone rubber is 100:2-3, and that of addition-type is 1:1. The operation time can be adjusted, making it convenient for construction.
