1 Product Overview
Hand Brush Basket Strainer is a mechanically driven on-line self-cleaning coarse filter, upgraded from conventional basket strainer with built-in rotary brush assembly. Fluid flows horizontally into vessel, solid contaminants are trapped on inner wall of stainless steel basket. As fouling accumulates and differential pressure rises, operator opens bottom blowdown ball valve and continuously cranks external handle to drive internal brushes for circumferential sweeping. Contaminants embedded inside mesh are stripped off and discharged through drain port under medium pressure.
Different from Y-type strainers & fixed basket filters, cleaning process requires no top cover opening and basket extraction, pipeline flow remains uninterrupted. It is preferably installed upstream of pumps and heat exchangers as primary barrier to intercept pipeline rust, sediment & floating debris.Versions fitted with wedge wire mesh deliver superior abrasion resistance and anti-deformation performance, ideal for water containing fiber, algae & colloidal contaminants.

3 Working Principle
Solid-contaminated medium enters chamber via inlet and penetrates basket radially. Particles larger than mesh aperture are retained on inner surface of basket; purified fluid flows continuously toward downstream pipeline.Long-term operation leads to mesh clogging and rising differential pressure. Initiate cleaning cycle: open bottom blowdown valve and rotate external crank handle steadily. Shaft drives annular brushes to perform 360° cyclic sweeping closely against screen surface.Sludge & rust scale stripped by brushes converge downward and discharge via drain piping. After several full rotations, DP recovers to normal range, then close blowdown valve to complete one self-cleaning cycle without system shutdown.

6 Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Specification
Install strictly following flow arrow marking on housing; reverse inlet/outlet connection prohibited. Fit temperature-resistant gasket between flanges and tighten bolts evenly in diagonal sequence.Preferred installation position: suction side of circulating pump and upstream of plate heat exchanger on straight horizontal pipe sections to reduce vortex disturbance.Remove welding slag & metal debris inside vessel via maintenance cover before commissioning; verify smooth crank rotation without jamming.Record differential pressure trend during daily patrol to arrange predictive cleaning. Execute blowdown once DP exceeds preset threshold.Fully inspect mesh perforation & bristle wear during annual overhaul, replace complete shaft sealing assembly simultaneously.Install upstream coarse screen pre-treatment if medium carries massive long fiber & weeds.Close isolation valves and drain residual water inside vessel during long-term shutdown to mitigate internal stagnant water corrosion & scaling.
