1 Product Overview
Multi-core Self-cleaning Strainer is a pressure-bearing fully automatic differential pressure backwash filter. Multiple stainless steel wedge wire elements are installed in parallel inside vessel. Fluid flows from inner to outer of filter elements, solid contaminants trapped on inner surface. As sludge accumulates, inlet-outlet DP rises to preset value and triggers cleaning cycle. Gear motor drives rotating backwash jib to target each element sequentially. Reverse flow generated by pipeline pressure strips contaminants for blowdown. Only one element is cleaned at a time while others keep working, enabling continuous inline operation without shutdown.
Different from single-core brush/suction self-cleaning filters, parallel multi-element design provides much larger filtration area and higher maximum throughput. Targeted backwashing delivers superior performance on viscous and fibrous contaminants, ideal for large-flow circulating water systems with high suspended solids and fluctuating water quality.

3 Working Principle
Filtration ModeFluid enters raw water chamber and distributes evenly into each filter element. Water permeates outward through element slots. Solid particles larger than nominal rating are retained on inner wall; clarified water collects in clean chamber and flows downstream via outlet.
Backwashing ModeFilter cake builds up and raises differential pressure. When DP reaches set threshold or timing cycle expires, automatic cleaning starts:Drive motor rotates jib and precisely aligns with the first element, blowdown valve opens. Pressure difference between inside vessel and atmosphere generates reverse flow to scour off contaminants, which are discharged through drain pipeline.After finishing one element, jib rotates to next element and repeats until full cycle completes. Main pipeline flow remains uninterrupted during whole procedure, then filter returns to normal filtration mode.

6 Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Specification
Install strictly following flow marking; keep vertical unit upright and horizontal unit level.Reserve minimum 5×DN straight pipe sections at inlet & outlet to stabilize flow field. Isolation valves and bypass are recommended for offline maintenance.A coarse strainer upstream is advised to prevent heavy foreign objects damaging filter elements.Flush internal welding debris before initial water filling. Set cleaning DP, single-element duration and cleaning interval parameters during commissioning.Regularly inspect motor operation, valve actuation and DP variation trend. During annual overhaul, check element abrasion and gasket aging.Run a full backwash cycle and drain residual water before long-term shutdown to avoid sludge hardening and element corrosion.
