1 Product Overview

High Flow Security Filter is a pressure-driven precision filtration vessel designed for large-diameter pleated high-flow cartridges, commonly installed upstream of membrane modules in medium & large water treatment systems. Medium passes through high-flow cartridges (outside-in or inside-out based on cartridge type). Suspended particles and colloids are retained on filter media, while purified fluid flows towards high-pressure pumps and membrane assemblies.

Different from conventional standard security filters, each high-flow cartridge delivers throughput dozens of times higher than ordinary PP melt-blown elements. It achieves large processing capacity with far fewer cartridges, resulting in smaller vessel dimensions and drastically reduced element replacement workload. It is the preferred pre-protection equipment for large pure water stations, power plants and seawater desalination projects.Cartridges with inside-out or outside-in flow direction are available according to process requirements. Mirror-polished sanitary vessels satisfy high cleanliness demands in electronics and pharmaceutical fluid treatment.

2 Main Structural Composition

  1. Vertical Pressure Vessel Housing AssemblyRoll-welded SUS304 / SUS316L stainless steel cylinder with elliptical heads, side inlet & outlet flanges and top service opening.

  2. High Flow Cartridge Support Plate AssemblyThickened stainless steel perforated plate fitted with U-type seal seats to guarantee reliable end sealing and prevent fluid bypass; optional anti-vortex flow distributor.

3 Working Principle

Medium containing fine particles and colloids enters filter chamber and is evenly distributed to each high-flow cartridge under system operating pressure.Fluid penetrates pleated media; suspended solids, broken resin and activated carbon powder larger than nominal rating are intercepted. Clean medium converges and exits toward high-pressure pumps and membrane systems.Contaminant accumulation reduces effective flow area and gradually raises differential pressure. When DP reaches warning limit (0.08~0.10MPa), shut down and replace cartridges to avoid element breakthrough which will carry raw contaminants to damage downstream membranes.After replacement, seal top cover and fully purge trapped air before restarting continuous operation.

6 Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Specification

Install strictly following flow arrow marking; reverse inlet/outlet connection prohibited. Fit temperature-resistant sealing gasket between flanges and tighten bolts evenly in diagonal sequence.Preferred installation location: straight pipe upstream of high-pressure pump, keep away from elbows and tees causing turbulence.Remove welding slag & metal debris inside vessel before commissioning; verify smooth auto vent operation without sticking.Record differential pressure trend during daily patrol and arrange full cartridge replacement once DP exceeds warning threshold.Open vessel during annual overhaul to inspect internal corrosion & plate deformation, replace all silicone sealing gaskets simultaneously.Install multimedia / activated carbon pre-filter if inlet water turbidity remains persistently high.Close isolation valves and drain residual water during long-term shutdown to keep interior dry and prevent rust formation.
