1 Product Overview
Y-type Self-cleaning Strainer is a pressure-bearing fully automatic electric brush filter. Fluid enters Y-shaped chamber, particles larger than nominal rating are trapped on outer surface of metal screen. Contaminant buildup raises inlet-outlet differential pressure and triggers cleaning cycle. Gear motor drives brush rotating to sweep screen, electric blowdown valve opens simultaneously for sludge discharge. Pipeline flow remains uninterrupted during whole cleaning process.
Differentiated from Hand Brush Y-type Strainer: equipped with motor and automatic control cabinet, no manual crank rotation required for fully automatic cyclic cleaning.Compared with vertical self-cleaning filters, inclined Y layout features shorter overall dimension, suitable for pump rooms and skid packages with limited vertical installation space.

3 Working Principle
Filtration ModeFluid enters Y-shaped chamber and permeates inward through screen. Solid contaminants are retained on outer wall; clarified water flows downstream through outlet, gradually forming filter cake.
Automatic Cleaning ModeFilter cake buildup raises differential pressure to preset threshold or timing cycle expires, automatic cleaning activates:Drive motor rotates brush for circumferential screen sweeping; blowdown valve opens to discharge stripped sludge under pipeline pressure. When cleaning duration expires, valve closes and motor stops; filter resumes normal filtration. The cycle runs automatically in loops; manual override mode is available on demand.

6 Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Specification
Install strictly following flow marking, arrange screen chamber inclined downward for sediment settlement. Reserve minimum 5×DN straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.Isolation valves and bypass are recommended for offline maintenance. A coarse strainer upstream is suggested to avoid heavy debris damaging screen.Flush internal welding residues before initial water filling. Set cleaning differential pressure, single-cycle duration and cleaning interval parameters during commissioning.Routinely inspect electric signals, motor noise and valve actuation. Annually check brush abrasion and gasket aging status.Run one complete automatic cleaning cycle and drain residual water before long shutdown to prevent sludge hardening and screen corrosion.
