The Mining Thickener for Gold Plant is an indispensable high capacity dewatering and thickening system engineered specifically for the demanding environments of gold ore processing facilities. Whether utilized for pre-leaching concentration, post-leaching washing, or final tailings management, this robust machine plays a decisive role in optimizing the overall plant water balance and mineral recovery rates. By separating fine solid ore particles from the liquid carrier, it delivers a dense, homogenous pulp output while liberating large volumes of clear water for immediate recycling within the grinding and flotation circuits, thereby significantly reducing fresh water consumption and plant operating costs.

2 Working Principle

The equipment achieves high efficiency phase separation through a continuous process of regulated chemical conditioning and accelerated gravity settling.

  • Slurry Conditioning and Entry: The low density gold ore slurry from the upstream grinding or flotation circuit is continuously fed into the custom designed central feedwell. Before entry, or within the feedwell itself, a precise volume of polymeric flocculant is introduced. The polymer chains bind with the suspended fine ore particles, causing them to agglomerate into heavy, rapidly settling macro flocs.

  • Accelerated Phase Separation: The conditioned stream moves outward into the settling zone. The dense flocs quickly overcome the upward fluid velocity and deposit onto the tank bottom, establishing a structured mud bed. The weight of the upper material continuously compacts the lower layers, expressing trapped water upward.

  • Continuous Product Recovery: The upward moving liquid transitions into a clear supernatant layer and continuously flows over the peripheral weir into the overflow launder for plant reuse. Simultaneously, a heavy duty central drive system rotates a rake assembly equipped with angled blades. These blades gently plow the compressed mud toward the central discharge cone, where it is withdrawn as a high density underflow for subsequent processing or disposal.
