1 Product Introduction
Mineral Slurry Thickening Equipment is a heavy-duty industrial separation system designed to concentrate solid particles from various mineral processing streams. This equipment is widely utilized in gold, copper, iron ore, coal, and non-metallic mining plants to handle large volumes of low-density slurries. By separating water from solid materials, it maximizes water recovery and prepares the concentrated underflow for subsequent stages such as filtration, leaching, or tailings disposal. 2 Working Principle
The operational mechanics of Mineral Slurry Thickening Equipment center on accelerated gravity sedimentation combined with mechanical assistance
Slurry Conditioning: The thin incoming mineral slurry is introduced into the system and is typically pre-mixed with synthetic polymers or flocculants. These chemicals cause the fine suspended mineral particles to bind together into larger mass aggregates called flocs.
Streamlined Feeding: The conditioned slurry enters the main tank through a specialized feedwell designed to eliminate turbulence. This ensures a smooth entry that allows the heavy flocs to settle without disrupting the existing separation layers.
Zonal Settlement: Under the force of gravity, the heavy mineral flocs rapidly sink to the bottom of the tank, forming a dense, compacted sludge bed. Simultaneously, the liberated clean water rises to the upper section of the vessel.
Continuous Discharge: The clarified liquid reaches the top perimeter and overflows into a collection launder for immediate reuse in the plant. At the bottom, heavy-duty rotating scrapers continuously push the thickened sludge toward a central outlet, where it is pumped away as a high-density slurry.

Superior Wear Protection: Critical components such as the feedwell, rake blades, and discharge cones are lined with specialized rubber, polyurethane, or hard alloys to withstand highly abrasive ore slurries.
Significant Operational Savings: By generating a highly concentrated discharge and maximum clean water return, it substantially reduces freshwater intake costs and decreases the sizing requirements for downstream filtration equipment.
