1 Product Overview
T-type Strainer (straight / reverse flow) is a pipeline basket coarse filter. Medium horizontally enters housing from inlet, flows radially through filter basket, solid contaminants are trapped inside basket; purified medium flows horizontally to outlet. Continuous contaminant accumulation gradually raises differential pressure across screen.After shutdown, top cover bolts are loosened to lift out basket for cleaning, then reset for operation. Compared with Y-type strainers, T-type adopts horizontal straight layout, better suited for DN200+ large main pipelines. Medium spillage is minimized during cover opening maintenance, widely used for processes prohibiting arbitrary medium discharge.Normally installed upstream of pumps, heat exchangers and pressure reducing valves as primary barrier to intercept construction welding slag and operational rust deposits, protecting downstream precision equipment from erosion and clogging.

3 Working Principle
Solid-contaminated medium flows into T-shaped chamber via horizontal inlet, penetrates cylindrical basket radially. Particles, welding slag and oxide scale larger than mesh aperture are trapped on inner surface of basket; purified fluid flows horizontally towards pipeline outlet.Continuous contaminant accumulation reduces effective flow area and raises differential pressure. Operators arrange shutdown maintenance based on DP data. Open top flange cover, lift basket upward, clean internal dirt via high-pressure water or compressed air; reinstall basket, tighten cover and restore pipeline service.Models equipped with blowdown valve support in-chamber purging during shutdown, lowering frequency of basket extraction.

6 Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Specification
Install strictly following flow arrow marking on housing; reverse inlet/outlet connection prohibited. Fit sealing gasket between flanges and tighten bolts evenly in diagonal sequence to avoid offset leakage.Preferred installation position: pump suction side and upstream of heat exchangers. Reserve vertical overhead space for basket lifting.Remove top cover before initial startup to clear welding slag and metal debris inside vessel; confirm flow direction matches pipeline.Check flange & cover leakage during daily patrol; record differential pressure trend to schedule predictive maintenance.Fully inspect basket for perforation & deformation during annual overhaul and replace aged sealing gaskets simultaneously.Install upstream sediment tank or primary pre-filter if medium contains massive oily sludge.Close isolation valves and drain residual medium inside housing for long-term shutdown maintenance to avoid internal rust & scaling.
