1. Product Definition
H Beam, full name Hot Rolled H Section Steel, features standard H-shaped cross-section composed of two parallel equal-thickness flanges and vertical web integrally hot rolled. The inner and outer surfaces of flanges are flat with right-angle ends, convenient for bolting and welding assembly. It is the core load-bearing section for modern steel structures, divided into hot rolled H beam and welded H beam. With reasonable cross-section distribution, it owns superior bending, torsion and compression resistance compared with standard I-beam, lightweight and steel-saving, widely used for factory beams & columns, high-rise steel columns, bridges, equipment supports and foundation piles.

2. Classification by Production Process
2.1 Hot Rolled H Beam (Mainstream Stock Product)
Integrally formed by universal hot rolling mill without welding seams, uniform internal grain, low internal stress and excellent fatigue resistance with stable dimensional tolerance. Divided into 4 series: HW wide flange, HM medium flange, HN narrow flange, HT thin wall, applicable for most construction, bridge and municipal projects.
2.2 Welded H Beam (For Custom Extra Large Sizes)
Formed by CNC cut steel plates and automatic submerged arc welding, customizable ultra-high, ultra-wide and extra thick non-standard cross sections to cover size limits of hot rolled products, for long-span factories, heavy equipment bases and large non-standard steel frames.
3. Four Series of Hot Rolled H Beam (GB/T 11263)
1. HW Wide Flange H Beam
Section height ≈ flange width, balanced section modulus in two directions, outstanding axial compression performance, mainly for steel columns and bearing piles.Model examples: HW100×100, HW200×200, HW400×400Application: High-rise steel columns, factory load-bearing columns, bridge pier columns, main photovoltaic support columns, foundation pile sections.
2. HM Medium Flange H Beam
Flange width accounts for about 2/3 of section height, balanced bending & compression capacity, universal for both beams and columns.Model examples: HM300×200, HM488×300Application: Multi-story factory frame beams & columns, medium-duty crane beams, load-bearing frames of equipment platforms.
3. HN Narrow Flange H Beam
Section height far exceeds flange width, superior uniaxial bending resistance, specially designed for bending components.Model examples: HN300×150, HN600×200, HN900×300Application: Main roof beams, floor beams, crane beams, long-span trusses, floor load-bearing beams.
4. HT Thin-Wall H Beam
Thin web & flange, light self-weight for lightweight structures.Model examples: HT100×50, HT150×75Application: Light steel workshops, curtain wall frames, indoor light supports, temporary prefab houses.

1. Carbon Steel H Beam (General Inland Projects)
Q235B / SS400 / S235JRMin yield ≥235MPa, good ductility and weldability with cost advantage, for dry inland factories, standard frames and light supports.
2. Low Alloy High Strength H Beam (Heavy Load, Low Temp & Coastal Main Grade)
Q355B/Q355C / S355JR / A572 Gr50 / A992Min yield ≥355MPa, qualified low-temperature impact test, superior load capacity and anti-deformation performance, for large factories, high-rise steel structures, bridges, coastal photovoltaic and wind power support frames.
3. Bridge Grade H Beam (Road & Sea Cross Bridges)
Q355q, Q370q, anti-fatigue and resistant to alternating vibration loads for long-term vehicle service.
4. Weathering H Beam (Long-Term Uncoated Outdoor Exposure)
Q355NQR, resist atmospheric, rain and salt fog corrosion, for open trestles, outdoor bridges and equipment supports to reduce later anti-corrosion maintenance.
5. Optional Surface Treatment
Hot Rolled Black Scale: Original rolling oxide surface, lowest cost, only for dry indoor use, on-site painting available for rust prevention.
Shot Blasting: Remove surface oxide scale for clean surface, suitable for paint and fire retardant coating.
Hot-Dip Galvanized H Beam: Fully immersed in molten zinc liquid with zinc coating weight 60–280g/㎡, long anti-corrosion service life, top choice for coastal, power and photovoltaic outdoor projects.
Anti-Rust Primer Coating: Short-term outdoor protection with lower cost than galvanizing.

Visual inspection: Straight overall shape without twist, lateral bend or warping; no crack, scar or lamination on flanges; uniform galvanized coating without missing plating or peeling;
Dimensional recheck: Height, flange width, web & flange thickness and inner arc radius comply with GB/T 11263 tolerance limits;
Working Condition Matching Guide:
