1. Product Overview
Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Pipe (HDG Pipe / GI Pipe) is manufactured by dipping welded or seamless carbon steel pipe into high-temperature molten zinc liquid. A durable zinc-iron alloy layer is metallurgically bonded to the steel substrate, providing superior anti-corrosion performance. Compared with cold galvanized (electro-galvanized) pipes, hot-dip galvanized pipes feature thicker coating, stronger adhesion, longer service life and full compliance with international engineering standards.
Cold galvanized pipes are strictly prohibited for pressure fluid, fire fighting and gas engineering projects due to thin coating, poor adhesion and short service life.
2. Product Classification
2.1 By Manufacturing Process
Hot Dip Galvanized Welded Steel Pipe (ERW): Mainstream export product. High-frequency welded pipe with uniform wall thickness, cost-effective, widely used for low-pressure fluid transmission, construction and structural support. Standard: GB/T 3091, ASTM A53, EN 10219.
Hot Dip Galvanized Seamless Steel Pipe: Seamless structure, high pressure resistance, suitable for high-pressure industrial fluid, chemical and mechanical engineering projects. Standard: GB/T 8163, ASTM A106.
Galvanized Square & Rectangular Pipe: Special structural pipe for building framework, guardrail, municipal engineering and steel structure projects. Standard: GB/T 6728, EN 10219.
2.2 By Pressure Grade
Standard Weight: Normal wall thickness, working pressure PN1.0MPa, for general water, air and irrigation systems.
Extra Heavy: Thickened wall, working pressure PN1.6MPa, for high-rise fire fighting, outdoor buried pipeline and gas transmission.

Q195, Q215, Q235B, Q345B (Mild Carbon Steel). Low carbon content ensures excellent welding, threading, grooving and bending performance.

7. Limitations
Not applicable for pure drinking water long-term transmission.
Not suitable for strong acid, strong alkali and high chlorine corrosive medium.
Not used for medium temperature over 100℃ high-temperature pipeline.
