1. Product Overview

Cold Rolled Carbon Steel Coil (abbreviated as CRC) is deep-processed from high-quality hot rolled steel coils through rolling at room temperature (below metal recrystallization temperature). It goes through a full set of procedures including pickling for descaling, cold tandem rolling, batch/continuous annealing, skin pass finishing and anti-rust oil coating.

Different from hot rolled coils, the whole production process involves no high-temperature heating, resulting in surfaces free of oxide scale and pitting defects, ultra-high dimensional tolerance accuracy, as well as excellent stamping, bending and welding performance. It serves as the core basic raw material for home appliances, automobiles, hardware, and substrates of color coated & galvanized steel. Products can be delivered in full coils, or cut into flat cold rolled sheets (cut-to-length sheets) as required.

2. Complete Production Process Flow

Hot rolled raw coil → Pickling (remove oxide scale and rust) → Cold tandem rolling (reduce thickness to target with 40%–80% reduction rate) → Hard cold rolled coil (unannealed, high hardness) → Continuous / Batch annealing (eliminate work hardening and restore ductility & toughness) → Skin pass finishing (correct flatness and control surface roughness) → Slitting to fixed width / Cut-to-length flatting → Anti-rust oil coating → Packaging, Warehousing & Shipment

Classification of Two Types of Finished Products

  1. Annealed Cold Rolled Coil (Main Product for Shipment): Good ductility, available for deep drawing, bending and complex forming; mainstream product purchased on the market

  2. Hard Cold Rolled Coil (CR): Non-annealed, high hardness HRB>90, only suitable for simple bending, mostly used as substrates for galvanizing mills

C≤0.02~0.12, Mn≤0.25~0.60, P≤0.020~0.030, S≤0.020~0.030; DC06 extra deep drawing grade adopts Ti/Nb interstitial-free steel with ultra-low carbon content.

Surfaces are classified into three grades: FB Finished Grade (special for home appliance panels), FC High Finished Grade, FF Super Mirror Finish Grade, free of scratches, pores and roll marks. Direct painting, baking finish and electroplating are available without polishing pretreatment.

8. Surface Quality Classification Standard

  1. FF Grade (Super Finished): Almost defect-free surface, only tiny dot marks allowed; for high-end home appliances and mirror appearance parts

  2. FB Grade (Finished Grade, Standard Shipment): Slight minor scratches and roll marks on single side that do not affect painting; universal for most home appliances and hardware products

  3. FC Grade (Ordinary Grade): Slight local color difference and tiny pitting allowed; applicable for internal structural parts and components covered after painting

9. Packaging & Marking Specifications

  1. Packing Method: Horizontal coil packaging, inner waterproof plastic film, middle moisture-proof kraft paper, outer reinforced steel strip binding. Full closed wooden pallets for sea shipment to avoid collision, moisture and seawater corrosion.

  2. Label Marking: Metal nameplate attached to the side of each coil, marking grade, specification, coil weight, furnace number, batch number, applicable standard, production date and manufacturer information for traceable inspection.

  3. Shipment Documents: Original Material Test Certificate (MTC), Packing List, Commercial Invoice and Certificate of Origin are provided to complete full export customs clearance documents.

10. Storage & Operation Precautions

  1. Store in dry and ventilated environment, avoid outdoor exposure to rain and damp ground to prevent surface rust.

  2. Use special C-type lifting tools for coil hoisting; do not directly bind coil edges with steel wire ropes to prevent deformation and scratches.

  3. No polishing required before processing; light oil stains can be painted directly. Supplementary anti-rust oil can be applied for secondary rust prevention during long-term storage.

  4. Hard cold rolled coils are only suitable for small-angle bending; deep drawing and stretching processing are forbidden to avoid cracking and scrapping.
