ASTME 108 Roofing Structure - Product Application:
Applicable to all types of roof coverings, such as photovoltaic panels, awnings, asphalt shingles, roll roofing, flame-retardant treated shingles and wood shakes and other common roofing materials, as well as photovoltaic panels and other components installed on the roof.
Ÿ ASTM E108 Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings
Depending on the purpose and flame retardant requirements of the product, you can choose the corresponding level to apply for:
ŸClass A test is applicable to the following roof coverings: it is expected to effectively resist severe fire, provide high fire protection for the roof deck, will not slide from the position, and is not expected to cause flying fire hazards.
ŸClass B test is applicable to the following roof coverings: it is expected to effectively resist moderate fire exposure, provide moderate fire protection for the roof deck, will not slide from the position, and will not cause flying fire hazards.
ŸClass C test is applicable to the following roof coverings: it can effectively resist mild fire, provide mild fire protection for the roof deck, will not slide from the position, and is not expected to cause flying fire hazards.
Note: Class A is the highest, and so on; for general general use, you can apply for Class C.
Application process for ASTME 108 flame spread test:
1. Determine the product - photovoltaic panel, fill in the application form
2. Determine the test method to be performed, such as flame spread test
3. Prepare samples according to standard requirements, such as Class C sample requirements 2.4x 2pcs
4. Send samples for testing
5. After the test, issue a test report.
