1. Product Definition

Steel Sheet Pile is hot-rolled or cold-formed structural steel section with interlocking latches on both sides. Multiple piles interlock tightly to form continuous watertight retaining walls for foundation support, cofferdams, seawalls, flood control and land reclamation projects. The tight interlock provides excellent anti-seepage performance, and the piles can be extracted and reused repeatedly. It is divided into hot-rolled sheet pile and cold-formed sheet pile.

2. Classification by Production Process

2.1 Hot Rolled Steel Sheet Pile (Mainstream for Deep & Permanent Marine Projects)

Formed under high temperature rolling, featuring precise interlocks, thick web and high section modulus, superior bending, water sealing and soil/water pressure resistance. Suitable for deep foundation pits over 10m, port quay walls and permanent retaining structures.Main profiles: U-type (Larsen SPⅢ/SPⅣ), Z-type, straight web type.

2.2 Cold Formed Steel Sheet Pile (For Shallow & Short-Term Temporary Works)

Rolled from steel strips at ambient temperature, thin wall, low cost and flexible sizes. Interlock tightness is inferior to hot rolled piles, only applicable for shallow trenches, temporary small cofferdams and municipal minor excavation.

3.1 U-Type Sheet Pile (Larsen Pile, Most Widely Used)

Symmetrical U cross-section with latches on both webs, easy lifting, piling and extraction with balanced waterproof performance.Common sizes: 400×125, 600×180, SPⅢ, SPⅣ.Application: 8–12m deep foundation pits, river cofferdams, bridge caps, metro trenches, urban flood dykes.

3.2 Z-Type Sheet Pile (Ultra-Deep Pit & Heavy-Duty Marine Works)

Latches arranged on outer flanges, higher section modulus and bending capacity with same steel consumption, wider effective width to reduce total pile quantity.Application: Ultra-deep foundation pits, deep-water docks, large sea dykes, land reclamation permanent retaining walls.

3.3 Straight Web Sheet Pile (Specialized Anti-Seepage Partition)

Flat cross-section with high tensile strength at interlocks, limited bending resistance, mainly for water barrier function.Application: Impermeable curtains, small trench support, temporary water stop partition, cellular cofferdams.

3.4 L-Type Sheet Pile (Narrow Space Municipal Excavation)

Light angular profile, small occupation space, same-direction latches, ideal for narrow gaps between buildings, small ditches and farmland hydraulic support.
