1. Product Definition

Carbon steel wire is thin circular metal wire manufactured from hot rolled carbon steel wire rod via pickling & phosphating, multi-pass cold drawing, annealing, surface galvanizing and other continuous processes. It features high strength, good toughness and excellent bending & welding performance. Classified by carbon content into low-carbon, medium-carbon, high-carbon and low-alloy steel wire, widely used for binding, weaving, springs, prestressing, wire rope twisting and hardware processing.

2. Classification by Carbon Content

1. Low Carbon Steel Wire (Q195, Q235, C ≤0.25%)

Excellent ductility, easy bending, welding and twisting with low tensile strength, no cracking during processing, including bright cold drawn wire, annealed black wire and hot-dip galvanized low carbon wire.Application: Construction binding wire, nail making, breeding mesh, greenhouse weaving, manual packing, welded wire mesh.

2. Medium Carbon Steel Wire (45#, 55#, C 0.30%–0.55%)

Balanced strength and toughness with medium tensile strength, suitable for medium-load elastic parts and wire rope core wire.Application: Protective fences, light-duty steel wire ropes, ordinary mechanical springs, stamping hardware parts.

3. High Carbon Steel Wire (60#, 65#, 70#, 72A, C 0.60%–0.90%)

Ultra-high tensile strength and outstanding fatigue resistance after cold drawing, core raw material for springs, prestressing strands and steel wire ropes.Application: Industrial springs, prestressed steel wires for bridges, steel strands, hoisting wire ropes, tire bead wire.

4. Low Alloy Steel Wire (40Cr, 30CrMnSi)

Alloyed with Cr & Mn elements, high temperature resistance, impact and fatigue resistance for heavy-duty elastic components.Application: Heavy machinery springs, engineering machinery elastic fittings, high-temperature wire rope wire.

  1. Cold Drawn Bright WireNo coating, formed with phosphating lubrication, bright smooth surface, lowest cost; only for dry indoor use, prone to rust.
