Steel Coil & Strip & Hot Rolled Steel Coil,Q235A/Q235B/Q235C/Q235D、Q390、Q420、Q460、Q550、Q690
1. Product Definition & Core Overview
Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC) is a coiled steel semi-finished product manufactured with continuous casting slabs or blooming slabs as raw materials. The slabs are heated to 1100–1250℃, descaled by high-pressure water, then rolled via roughing and finishing mills, cooled by laminar flow and finally coiled. It is the most fundamental upstream raw material in the steel industry.
Hot rolled coil features excellent plasticity, weldability and low forming resistance under high-temperature rolling. With lower production cost compared to cold rolled steel, it is widely adopted for structural components, pipe blank, stamping parts and downstream deep processing raw materials. The surface carries natural black iron oxide scale; pickling treatment can be conducted to remove oxide layers for higher surface finish requirements. Products are supplied in original hot coils, leveled sheets, slitted narrow strips and pickled hot rolled coils to satisfy diversified processing demands.

All grades pass 180° cold bend test without crack generation; certified impact test at 20℃ for structural grades as required by projects.
6. Complete Production Process Flow
Continuous casting slab incoming inspection → Walking beam furnace uniform heating → High-pressure water primary descaling → Reciprocating rough rolling → Crop & tail cutting → Multi-pass finish rolling → Laminar flow controlled rapid cooling → Hot coiling into master coils → Slow cooling stacking → Finishing processing (leveling / cutting to length / slitting / pickling & oiling) → Full inspection of dimension, surface and mechanical properties → Laser marking grade, spec, heat & batch number → Edge protection + steel strip bundling → Moisture-proof packaging & warehousing
Controlled laminar cooling stabilizes internal metallographic structure to eliminate uneven hardness; slow cooling avoids internal residual stress and plate warpage during subsequent processing.
7. Core Product Advantages

9. Processing, Storage & Operation Specifications
Cutting, bending and welding operations can be carried out directly on hot rolled coils without heating; pickled coils are recommended for exposed finished parts to avoid oxide shedding.
Coils shall be stored in dry covered warehouses; long-term outdoor stacking requires waterproof tarpaulin wrapping to prevent surface rust expansion.
Slitting processing needs proper clearance between cutting knives to avoid edge burrs which may cause crack initiation during subsequent bending.
High-strength low-alloy coils for pressure vessels must undergo third-party ultrasonic flaw detection before formal fabrication.
When used for deep drawing stamping, SPHD/SPHE deep drawing grades shall be selected to prevent surface cracking under large deformation.
Coil lifting requires dedicated C-type lifting clamps; steel wire slings directly contacting coil edges are prohibited to avoid edge deformation and damage.
