1. Product Definition & Overview
Steel wire is a precision cold-drawn metal wire product processed from high-quality wire rods through pickling, phosphating, multi-pass drawing, annealing and surface coating. Featuring accurate dimension, uniform toughness, stable tensile strength and excellent plasticity, it can be bent, cut, welded, woven and stamped freely. As a general basic steel material, it is widely used in hardware, construction, industry, agriculture and precision manufacturing. It is classified into low-carbon mild wire, high-carbon hard wire, galvanized steel wire, stainless steel wire and spring steel wire for binding, mesh weaving, spring production, rope making, prestress and anti-corrosion protection.

3. Product Classification
3.1 By Carbon Content
(1)Low Carbon Mild Steel Wire
Material: Q195/Q235/SAE1006/SAE1008. High ductility, soft and flexible, easy bending and welding. Widely used for construction binding, garden tying, wire mesh weaving and hardware crafts.
(2)Medium & High Carbon Hard Wire
High carbon content with high tensile strength, high hardness and excellent elasticity. Applied for springs, screen meshes, steel strands, wire ropes and mechanical parts.
(3)Stainless Steel Wire
Grades: 201, 304, 316, 316L. Anti-corrosion, rust-proof and high-temperature resistant, suitable for chemical, marine, filter mesh and medical applications.
3.2 By Surface Treatment
(1)Black Wire / Bright Wire
No coating, low cost, ideal for indoor binding and dry-environment mesh production.
(2)Hot-Dip Galvanized Wire
Thick zinc coating with strong adhesion and superior anti-corrosion performance for outdoor, water conservancy, fence and marine projects.
(3)Electro-Galvanized Wire

5. Core Mechanical Properties
5.1 Low Carbon Mild Wire (Binding / Weaving)
Tensile strength: 300–500MPa; high elongation rate, no fracture after repeated bending, excellent flexibility for manual and mechanical processing.
5.2 High Carbon Hard Wire (Spring / Industrial Use)
Tensile strength: 1200–2300MPa; high hardness, stable elasticity and resilience, excellent fatigue resistance and deformation resistance.
5.3 Galvanized Anti-Corrosion Wire
Zinc coating adhesion meets national standards; no zinc peeling or delamination after bending and twisting, with far better salt spray corrosion resistance than ordinary black wire.

Black Wire Process: High-quality wire rod incoming → Pickling and descaling → Phosphating and lubrication → Multi-pass cold drawing → Continuous annealing tempering → Finishing and winding → Dimension inspection and sorting → Packaging and warehousing
Galvanized Wire Process: Precision drawn wire → Surface activation treatment → Hot-dip / electro galvanizing → Surface finishing → Coating inspection → Anti-corrosion curing → Coil packaging
Wire rod raw material → Pickling & Descaling → Phosphating & Lubrication → Multi-pass cold drawing → Continuous annealing → Finishing & spooling → Inspection & packaging. Galvanized wires undergo additional surface activation and hot-dip/electro galvanizing for anti-corrosion treatment.

9. Selection & Usage Guidelines
Black wire / bright cold-drawn wire is the most cost-effective for indoor dry and short-term binding projects.
Hot-dip galvanized wire is mandatory for outdoor exposed, humid and long-term protection scenarios to prevent rust and aging.
Electro-galvanized wire or PVC coated wire is preferred for high-appearance fine mesh and craft products.
High-carbon spring steel wire must be used for elastic parts and load-bearing structures; soft low-carbon wire is not allowed for substitution.
Stainless steel wire or thick hot-dip galvanized wire shall be adopted for marine and acid-base corrosive working conditions.
Store in dry and ventilated environment with moisture and rain protection to avoid surface oxidation and discoloration caused by long-term humidity.
