1. Product Introduction
H beam is H-shaped section steel integrally hot rolled with upper & lower flanges and middle web. Different from I-beam, its inner and outer flanges are parallel with uniform thickness, featuring balanced mechanical properties, superior bending, compression and torsion resistance. It is the primary load-bearing section steel for modern steel structure projects.Manufactured by hot rolling carbon steel and low alloy steel billets. Surface finishes include black hot rolled, hot-dip galvanized and painted, suitable for indoor workshops, outdoor infrastructure and coastal anti-corrosion projects.
2. Classification
2.1 By Series
Wide Flange H Beam (HW)Flange width is close to section height with approximate square cross-section, balanced bidirectional bearing, widely used for steel columns and equipment bases. Mark example: HW100×100.
Medium Flange H Beam (HM)Flange width between HW and HN, balancing bending resistance and vertical compression, applied to frame beams and secondary workshop beams. Mark example: HM300×200.
Narrow Flange H Beam (HN)Flange width much smaller than section height, outstanding vertical bending capacity, mainly used for roof main beams, floor girders and bridge longitudinal beams. Mark example: HN400×200.
Welded H BeamFabricated by cutting, assembling and submerged arc welding steel plates. Custom ultra-high & ultra-wide non-standard sizes available for long-span factories and special steel structures.
2.2 By Production Process
Hot Rolled H Beam (Main Standard Type)One-piece hot forming without welding seams, uniform internal texture and stable bearing capacity, complying with GB/T 11263-2017, full sizes in stock.
Welded H BeamAssembled by three steel plates with flexible customized sizes for special loads and long-span projects.
2.3 Surface Anti-corrosion Treatment
Mill black finish: With natural oxide scale, low cost for dry indoor workshops.
Hot-dip galvanized H beam: Strong zinc adhesion and excellent anti-corrosion performance, ideal for photovoltaic supports, outdoor steel structures and coastal projects.
Primer painted finish: Simple anti-corrosion solution for temporary outdoor structures.
3. Main Steel Grades & Mechanical Properties
Q235B / S235JR / ASTM A36Yield strength ≥235MPa, excellent weldability and toughness, general material for regular workshops, small frames and supports.
Q355B/C/D / S355JR / A572 Gr50High-strength low alloy steel with yield strength ≥355MPa, greatly improved load capacity. Grade C & D meet low-temperature impact requirements, applicable for heavy workshops, long-span bridges and buildings in frigid zones, crane equipment bases.

Packing: Bundled with steel strips, each bundle attached with metal label marking model, steel grade, heat number and weight. Export goods wrapped with waterproof woven cloth to avoid rust during sea transportation;
Lead time: Standard hot rolled stock goods 5–7 days; hot-dip galvanized & custom welded processing 7–10 days, shipment available from Tianjin Port;
Quality documents: Original Mill Test Certificate (MTC) supplied together with goods, third-party physical & chemical inspection by SGS, BV acceptable;
Acceptance criteria: No cracks, delamination, slag inclusion or peeling on surface; all dimensions, mechanical properties and chemical composition comply with national standards, defective products returnable & exchangeable.
