Steel Coil & Strip & Hot Rolled Coil HRC,EN10025、ASTM A36、A572、JIS G3101 / G3131
1. Product Overview
Hot Rolled Steel Coil (HRC) is produced from continuous casting slabs. The slabs are heated above 1200°C, descaled under high pressure, continuously rolled through roughing and finishing mills, laminar cooled and finally coiled into steel coils.
Hot rolled steel features uniform microstructure, excellent toughness and stable strength without work hardening. With advantages of low cost, good plasticity, excellent weldability and easy forming, hot rolled coil is a fundamental industrial steel material. It is widely used in building structures, machinery manufacturing, steel structures, pipe production, automobile industry, pressure vessels and hardware processing.
2. Main Material Grades and Properties
2.1 Ordinary Carbon Structural Steel
Q195: Excellent plasticity, suitable for bending, stamping and general hardware parts
Q235B: Most common general-purpose grade with balanced toughness, weldability and formability
Q215: Intermediate performance between Q195 and Q235 for general structural components
2.2 High-strength Low-alloy Steel
Q355B / Q355NL: High strength and good impact resistance for steel structures, engineering machinery and load-bearing components
2.3 Special Steel Grades
Shipbuilding steel: AH36, DH36 for ships and offshore platforms
Pressure vessel steel: Q245R, Q345R for boilers and storage tanks
Automotive structural steel: SAPH310, SAPH370, SAPH440 for automobile chassis and frames
Pickling base material: Suitable for further cold rolling, galvanizing and color coating
3. Standard Specifications
Thickness range: 1.2mm – 25.4mm (regular stock: 2.0mm – 12mm)
Width range: 800mm – 2000mm (common sizes: 1000/1250/1500/1800mm)
Inner coil diameter: 610mm / 762mm
Coil weight: 15 – 30 tons
Strict tolerance control on thickness, width and flatness; free from peeling, bubbles and cracks
4. Core Product Advantages
Uniform grain structure after high-temperature rolling, providing excellent plasticity, bending, punching and welding performance
Stable material performance with low internal stress, not easy to deform during flattening, slitting and stamping
High cost performance compared with cold-rolled steel for large-scale structural applications
Complete size coverage from thin to heavy gauge, customizable flattening and slitting
Stable supply with consistent batch quality from major steel mills
5. Production Process
Slab incoming → High-temperature furnace heating (1200–1250°C) → High-pressure water descaling → Rough rolling → Finish rolling → Laminar cooling → Coiling → Online quality inspection → Edge trimming → Marking → Packaging and warehousing → Further slitting / flattening → Delivery
6. Surface Condition & Processing
Surface Condition
Standard hot-rolled black surface with uniform oxide layer, free from peeling, inclusions and cracks, meeting general structural steel requirements.
Deep Processing Available
Flattening into steel sheets
Slitting into narrow strips
Sandblasting and pickling
Bending, stamping and welding forming
