1. Product Overview
Pre-painted Steel Coil (PPGI / PPGL) is a color-coated steel material produced by using hot-dip galvanized steel, galvalume steel or cold-rolled steel coil as the base material. After surface degreasing, phosphating pretreatment, multi-layer roller coating and high-temperature baking curing, the steel surface forms a dense and uniform organic coating.
With rich colors, strong paint adhesion, excellent weather resistance and corrosion resistance, no secondary spraying required and good forming performance, pre-painted steel coils have both decorative and protective functions. They are widely used in steel structure buildings, exterior wall decoration, home appliances and industrial manufacturing.
2. Base Material & Grades
2.1 Base Material Type
PPGI: Hot-dip galvanized steel base (GI), cost-effective and widely used for general factory buildings
PPGL: Hot-dip galvalume steel base (GL), 3–5 times higher corrosion resistance than galvanized steel, ideal for outdoor long-term service
2.2 Main Steel Grades
TDC51D: Commercial grade for profiling, fence panels and roof sheets
TDC52D: Forming grade for bending and general structural parts
TDC53D / TDC54D: Deep drawing grade for home appliance shells and irregular components
TS250GD / TS300GD: High-strength structural grade for long-span roofing and load-bearing wall panels
3. Coating System
3.1 Coating Types
PE (Polyester): Standard polyester, cost-effective, service life 5–8 years for indoor and general workshops
SMP (Silicon Modified Polyester): Anti-chalking and anti-fading, service life 10–15 years for outdoor projects
HDP (High Durability Polyester): High UV resistance, service life 15–20 years for coastal and high-altitude areas
PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride): Top-grade weather resistance and self-cleaning performance, service life 20–30 years for high-end buildings and curtain walls
3.2 Coating Structure
Standard 2-coatings & 2-baking process: Primer + Topcoat with high-temperature curing. Custom 3-coatings & 3-baking available for thicker film and stronger durability.

6. Production Process
Base material inspection → Surface degreasing & cleaning → Chemical phosphating & passivation → Primer roller coating → High temperature baking → Topcoat roller coating → Secondary curing → Surface quality inspection → PE film protection → Edge trimming & slitting → Marking & packaging → Flattening / Profiling → Delivery

Regular colors: Sea blue, off-white, ivory white, crimson, dark gray, dark green
Special finishes: Matte, high-gloss, metallic pearlescent, frosted, stone texture and wood grain
Custom colors available according to full RAL color system

Appearance inspection: Color difference, gloss, pinholes, scratches and missing coating
Dimensional inspection: Thickness tolerance, width tolerance and flatness
11. Packaging, Transportation & Storage
Packaging: Standard export packing with waterproof rust-proof paper, plastic corner protectors and steel band reinforcement, surface PE film anti-scratch protection.
Transportation: Avoid heavy pressure, collision and surface scratching.
Storage: Store in dry and ventilated warehouse, keep flat and moisture-proof; avoid long-term outdoor exposure to rain and sunlight.
Delivery forms: PPGI/PPGL coils, cut-to-size sheets, profiled sheets and custom slit strips.
12. Foreign Trade Business Instructions
MOQ: 1 coil, mixed colors and mixed specifications are acceptable.
Regular colors in stock, 7–10 days production cycle for special colors and high-end coatings.
Available documents: Mill test certificate, material report, salt spray test report and certificate of origin.
Payment terms: 30% TT advance payment, balance against B/L copy.
