1. Product Overview

Angle steel, also known as angle iron, is L-shaped hot rolled long section steel with 90° vertical two sides, only produced from carbon & HSLA steel without stainless steel grades. Divided into equal leg angle steel and unequal leg angle steel, with two surface options: black hot rolled angle steel & hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion angle steel. Its vertical L-shape delivers excellent bending & compression resistance, available for cutting, drilling, welding and bolt assembly. Widely used as structural supports, trusses, tower frames, embedded parts, cable trays and guardrails, it is one of the most consumed section steel for civil construction, power, machinery, photovoltaic and overseas infrastructure projects.

  1. Equal Leg Angle Steel (Mainstream Market Grade)Two legs with identical width, marked as ∠leg width × thickness e.g. ∠50×50×5; symmetrical stress bearing, widely used for factory trusses, warehouse supports and foundation embedded parts.

  2. Unequal Leg Angle Steel (Asymmetric Load Structures)Long leg + short leg with different widths, marked as ∠long leg × short leg × thickness e.g. ∠100×63×8; designed for unbalanced load demand, ideal for pipe supports, beam-column joints and equipment bases.

Hot Rolled Black Angle Steel Process

Slab heating at 1100–1250℃ → High pressure water descaling → Multi-pass mill rolling for L-section → Uniform cooling on cooling bed → Roller straightening to eliminate bending → Fixed-length flame cutting → Sampling mechanical test → Steel marking with size & heat batch number → Multi-circumferential steel strapping & steel-wood pallet warehousing

Galvanized Angle Steel Process

Degreasing & cleaning of black angle steel → Pickling rust removal → Flux treatment → Hot dip galvanizing pool coating → Cooling & passivation → Edge trimming & zinc coating thickness inspection → Moisture-proof film wrapping & packaging

  • Leg width tolerance: ±1mm for size ≤56#, ±1.5mm for size >56#; thickness tolerance ±0.3~0.5mm; bending deflection ≤4mm per meter

  • Black steel surface: free of lamination, scar & penetrating cracks; galvanized steel with uniform zinc coating without missing plating, peeling or burrs.

  • Hot-dip galvanized angle steel: Whole pallet wrapped with thickened waterproof plastic film to avoid zinc coating scratch during transportation

  • Export dedicated packaging: Fixed on IPPC fumigated wooden pallets with full moisture-proof film covering, fit for 20GP / 40HC container sea transportation
