1. Product Overview
Checkered steel plates, also known as anti-slip plates, tread plates or diamond plates, are produced by a hot rolling embossing process using carbon steel, galvanized steel or aluminum alloy substrates. Continuous raised patterns are rolled onto the plate surface through one integrated forming process, without bonding or splicing.
The concave-convex texture greatly improves surface friction, combining anti-slip, wear-resistant, load-bearing, drainage, dust-proof and decorative functions. It solves the common disadvantages of flat plates, such as easy slipping, water and dust accumulation, and insufficient bearing capacity. Checkered plates are widely used in industrial platforms, ships, vehicles, building stairs, equipment walkways, municipal engineering and other anti-slip load-bearing scenarios.
Main pattern types:Lentil / teardrop pattern (most widely used), diamond pattern, five-bar pattern, round bean pattern, orange peel pattern.

2. Main Materials and Applicable Working Conditions
2.1 Ordinary Carbon Checkered Plates
Q235B / SS400 / A36
Working condition: Indoor workshop platforms, stair treads, equipment base plates, factory walkways, truck carriage floors.
Performance: Optimal cost performance, excellent welding and cutting machinability, suitable for ordinary anti-slip scenarios in dry inland areas.
Surface: Hot rolled black scale; shot blasting or painting anti-corrosion available upon request.
2.2 Hot-dip Galvanized Checkered Plates
GI
Working condition: Outdoor open-air walkways, humid workshops, sewage treatment plants, mild corrosive environments.
Performance: Hot-dip galvanized coating on the surface, rust and corrosion resistant, no need for on-site painting.
2.3 Aluminum Alloy Checkered Plates
1060 / 3003 / 5052
Working condition: Ship decks, elevator car floors, lightweight vehicle pedals, landscape decorative walkways.
Performance: Light weight, rust-proof, easy to bend, first choice for lightweight projects.
2.4 Low Alloy High Strength Checkered Plates
Q355B
Working condition: Heavy-duty forklift passages, heavy machinery platforms, port heavy-load walkways, large equipment bases.
Performance: High yield strength, superior impact resistance and load-bearing capacity compared with ordinary carbon steel.

4. Complete Production Process
Uncoil hot rolled substrate and clean the surface to remove oxide scale and impurities.
Integrated embossing rolling by high-temperature mill, forming standard raised patterns in one pass.
Temperature-controlled cooling to ensure full and uniform pattern height without incomplete forming.
Straightening and leveling to eliminate rolling warpage and ensure flat plate surface.
Fixed-length cutting and deburring. Galvanized and aluminum alloy materials can receive additional surface treatment.
Full visual inspection, including pattern forming rate, missing patterns, scratches and pits. Random dimensional inspection.
Mark spraying, classified packing and warehousing.
5. Mandatory Factory Inspection Items
Spectral composition test: Strict control of carbon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus impurity content.
Mechanical performance: Room-temperature tensile test and 180° cold bending test, no cracking or peeling after bending.
Special pattern inspection: Pattern height, complete forming degree and uniform spacing.
Full dimensional inspection: Substrate thickness, width, length and plate flatness.
Visual inspection: Free of missing patterns, scratches, double skins, pits and oil stains.

Plate MarkingEach plate is sprayed with material grade, execution standard, substrate thickness, dimension and heat batch number.
PackingThin plates are bundled with steel strips on wooden pallets and covered with rainproof film. Thick plates are fixed separately. Reinforced seaworthy packing available for export.
