Flotation Cell With Air Inflation System
Product Spotlights
1. Product Introduction
The Flotation Cell with Air Inflation System is a high-capacity, forced-aeration mineral separation machine engineered for modern, large-scale processing plants. Unlike self-aspirating cells, this system utilizes an external blower to precisely inject pressurized air into the cell.
This design decouples the agitation mechanism from the aeration process, allowing for optimal pulp suspension and maximum bubble-particle collision efficiency. It is highly recommended for roughing and scavenging circuits dealing with copper, gold, lead, zinc, iron, and non-metallic minerals where large throughput and high recovery are critical.
2. Working Principle
The system optimizes the mineralization process through independent agitation and forced air delivery:
Slurry Agitation: The slurry is fed into the tank, where a specially designed impeller rotates to keep the solid mineral particles uniformly suspended, preventing sanding at the bottom.
Forced Air Inflation: Low-pressure air from an external blower is forced through a central air distributor into the impeller zone.
Bubble Dispersion & Attachment: The rotating impeller shears the forced air into massive quantities of highly uniform, microscopic bubbles. Hydrophobic valuable minerals attach to these bubbles as they rise through the pulp.
Froth Collection: The mineralized bubbles form a stable froth layer at the top of the cell, which continuously overflows or is mechanically laundered out as a high-grade concentrate, while hydrophilic gangue is discharged from the bottom.

Core Advantages & Technical Highlights
-
Independent Air Control (High Flexibility)
Because air is supplied by an external blower rather than drawn in by the impeller's rotation, the inflation rate can be adjusted independently of the agitation speed. This allows operators to easily optimize air volume based on different ore characteristics and throughput requirements.
-
Lower Energy Consumption
Since the impeller is only responsible for suspending the slurry and dispersing air (and doesn’t need to spend energy creating a vacuum to suck in air), the mechanical power consumption is significantly lower—reducing energy costs by up to 15% to 30% compared to self-aspirating cells.
-
Superior Shallow-Tank Hydrodynamics
The forced-air mechanism allows for a highly optimized impeller-stator design. It creates a powerful lower agitation zone and a highly stable upper quiescent zone, preventing the froth layer from being disturbed and ensuring a clean separation.
-
Reduced Wear & Extended Service Life
The impeller can operate at a lower peripheral speed while still achieving excellent dispersion. Lower speeds mean significantly less abrasive wear from the slurry, greatly extending the lifespan of the impeller and stator.
-
Low Maintenance & Easy Restart
The cell features a suspended stator design that minimizes the risk of the impeller getting buried by settled solids during unexpected power outages, making the system much easier to restart under full load.
