1. Product Overview

Alloy steel pipe is a special steel pipe based on iron-carbon matrix with alloy elements such as chromium, molybdenum and vanadium added. Seamless alloy steel pipe is the mainstream product. Different from ordinary carbon steel pipe, it integrates outstanding performances including high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, sulfide corrosion resistance, superior low-temperature toughness, high strength and high pressure bearing capacity. As special pressure-bearing pipes for high-temperature and high-pressure & corrosive working conditions, they are widely used in high-end industrial fields such as power boilers, petroleum refining, coal chemical industry and engineering machinery.

2. Core Product Classification

(1) Classification by Forming Process

  1. Hot Rolled Seamless Alloy Steel Pipe (Mainstream for Large Diameter & Heavy Wall)Formed through heating, piercing, continuous rolling and sizing of round billets. Outer diameter ranges from 168mm to 1200mm, wall thickness 6mm to 100mm. Featuring high production efficiency, it is suitable for high-pressure main pipelines, boiler headers and chemical reaction pipelines.

  2. Cold Drawn / Cold Rolled Precision Alloy Steel Pipe (Small Diameter & Thin Wall)Processed by multi-pass cold drawing with high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface. Outer diameter 6mm–168mm, wall thickness 0.5mm–20mm. Applied to heat exchangers, instrument pipelines, hydraulic equipment and small boiler superheater tubes.

  3. Alloy Welded Steel Pipe (Large Diameter Structural Pipe)Manufactured by longitudinal submerged arc welding or spiral welding, maximum outer diameter up to 2500mm. Mostly used for large steel structures and transmission pipelines with lower pressure bearing capacity than seamless pipes.

(2) Classification by Service Condition

  1. High-pressure Boiler Alloy Pipe: Grades 12Cr1MoVG, 15CrMoG, P91/T91, applicable to main steam pipelines, superheaters and reheaters of 500–700℃ supercritical boilers.

  2. Petroleum Cracking Alloy Pipe: 1Cr5Mo, P5, resistant to high-temperature sulfur corrosion, for refinery cracking furnaces and hydrogenation units.

  3. High-pressure Chemical Fertilizer Alloy Pipe: 15CrMo, 12Cr2Mo, used for high-pressure ammonia synthesis and gasification furnace pipelines in coal chemical industry.

  4. Structural Alloy Steel Pipe: 40Cr, 42CrMo, for mechanical processing, hydraulic supports and spindle sleeves of engineering machinery without high-temperature service requirements.

  5. Low-temperature Corrosion-resistant Alloy Pipe: Nickel-based alloy pipes for low-temperature oil & gas and acid corrosive pipelines.

3.2 Structural Alloy Steel

40Cr, 42CrMo, 20CrMo, 35CrMo. Featured with high strength, wear resistance and easy quenching & tempering, not suitable for high-temperature working conditions.

    Core Heat Treatment Process to Guarantee Performance

    • 15CrMo / 12Cr1MoVG: Normalized at 930–960℃ + High-temperature tempering at 680–720℃ to eliminate internal stress and boost high-temperature creep performance.

    • 42CrMo Structural Pipe: Quenching + High-temperature tempering to obtain high strength and high toughness.

    • Precision Cold Drawn Pipe: Annealing for softening to guarantee plastic processing performance.
