1. Product Overview & Production Process
1.1 Brief Introduction
Hot rolled steel coil (abbreviated as HR coil) is produced from continuous casting slabs. Under high temperature of 1100–1300°C above steel recrystallization temperature, slabs go through continuous rough rolling and finish rolling, then cooled by laminar flow and coiled into strip coils. It is a core basic raw material widely used in steel structure, machinery manufacturing, pipe production and cold rolling substrate.
1.2 Complete Production Flow
Continuous casting slab reheating → high-pressure water descaling → multi-pass rough rolling → finish rolling to specified dimensions → laminar flow temperature-controlled cooling → coiling by down coiler → finishing processing (slitting, levelling, cutting to length) → packing & warehousing for delivery
1.3 Delivery Forms
Original as-rolled coil: Delivered directly after rolling with original oxide scale, most cost-effective.
Levelled finished coil: Processed by leveller to eliminate wave shape with excellent flatness.
Slitted narrow coil: Cut into narrow strips as per customer required width.
Cut-to-length plate: Hot rolled coil levelled and sheared into single hot rolled steel plates.

2.1 Size Range
Thickness: 1.2–25.4mm; thin gauge 1.2–6mm, medium-heavy gauge 6–25.4mm. Popular gauges: 2.75/3.75/4.75/5.75/7.75/9.75/12mm
Width: 800–2130mm, regular stock widths: 900/1250/1500/1800/2000mm
Inner coil diameter: Standard 760mm, optional 850mm
Single coil weight: 15–32 tons, maximum 35 tons
Outer coil diameter: 1200–2025mm
Specification marking format: Thickness × Width × Coil Weight Grade, e.g. 5.75×1500×20T Q235B
2.2 Dimensional Tolerance (Standard GB/T709-2019)
Thickness tolerance: ±0.15mm (Normal Class N; Precision Class A available on request)
Width tolerance: ±3mm
Flatness: Camber ≤50mm per coil, no excessive wave or warpage defects.

4. Surface Condition & Custom Deep Processing Services
4.1 Standard Mill Surface (Default Delivery Status)
Uniform blue-black hot rolling oxide scale. Free from crack, lamination, inclusion, hole and severe peeling. Minor tiny pits and water stains are acceptable if no impact on further processing. Suitable for painting, sandblasting and pickling treatment.
4.2 Custom Finished Surfaces Available
Pickled coil: Oxide scale fully removed with silvery smooth surface, direct stamping without polishing
Shot blasting rust removal: Mechanically remove oxide layer to improve coating adhesion
Levelling process: Optimize flatness, eliminate yield point elongation, enhance stamping performance
Slitting, cut-to-length, film covering, anti-rust oil coating available
