1. Basic Information
GE IC670MDL644 is a 32-channel 24VDC digital input module of the GE Fanuc Field Control series, serving as the core signal acquisition unit of GE PLC distributed IO systems. Specially designed for industrial on-site switch signal collection, equipment status feedback and interlock point monitoring, it collects switch status signals such as passive contacts, photoelectric switches, relay feedback, valve limit and equipment start-stop status in batches, providing accurate digital signal support for PLC system logic operation, sequence control, safety interlock and equipment status monitoring.
Adopting industrial group isolation design and supporting universal positive/negative logic input, the module adapts to standard 24VDC industrial power distribution conditions. 3. Working Principle
Power-on Initialization & Self-inspection: After power-on, the module automatically completes self-inspection of hardware circuits, channel loops, bus interfaces and power supply status, initializes channel acquisition parameters and bus protocols, and enters standby acquisition state after passing inspection.
On-site Switch Signal Acquisition: 32 channels synchronously poll and collect 24VDC switch status signals from on-site sensors, limit switches, relays, buttons and valve feedbacks, distinguishing high and low level valid states.
Isolation Filtering & Signal Shaping: The grouped isolation circuit blocks external high-voltage surges and electromagnetic interference. The built-in hardware filter eliminates signal jitter and clutter to output stable standard digital switch signals.
Signal Encoding & Data Upload: It uniformly encodes and packages the 32-channel switch status, and uploads data to the GE PLC main control unit in real time via Field Control bus protocol, providing valid data for system logic judgment, interlock control and status monitoring.
Real-time Visual Status Feedback: The channel LED indicators synchronously light up corresponding valid states, enabling operation and maintenance personnel to intuitively judge on-site equipment on-off status and quickly troubleshoot line disconnection, signal abnormality and equipment faults.
