1. Basic Information
GE IC670MDL730 is an 8-channel 24VDC positive logic discrete output module for GE Fanuc Field Control and Genius distributed I/O systems. Adopting PNP sourcing output design, it converts PLC logic commands into field switch signals to drive solenoid valves, indicator lights, relays and other low-voltage DC actuators.
Equipped with independent channel LED indicators, built-in fuse overcurrent protection and surge suppression circuit, the module supports distributed remote networking and real-time fault diagnosis. Featuring stable output performance and strong load capacity, it is widely used in legacy system replacement, I/O point expansion and on-site control loop renovation in industrial automation fields.

3. Working Principle
Power-on Initialization & Self-test: The module obtains logic power from the backplane, completes full hardware self-test and Genius bus parameter initialization, synchronizes with the main control system, and enters standby state.
Bus Command Reception & Parsing: Receives real-time switch output commands from PLC via Genius bus, verifies command validity, and parses on/off logic of each channel.
Power Drive & Output Execution: The external 24VDC power supply passes through the built-in fuse protection circuit, drives the corresponding channel to conduct in PNP sourcing mode, and supplies power to field loads for equipment action.
Status Feedback & Indication: Synchronously lights up channel LED indicators according to output status, collects real-time load operating conditions, and uploads all status data to the main control system.
Overload & Short-circuit Protection: The built-in fuse blows quickly in case of overload or short circuit, locks the faulty channel, triggers fault alarm, and protects the module and field equipment.
Closed-loop Cyclic Operation: Continuously executes output commands, feeds back operating status and monitors loop conditions to realize stable closed-loop control operation.
