As a common filtration device, the basket filter is widely used in the industrial field. Its working principle is based on the basic principles of physical interception and separation, which can effectively remove impurities in the fluid.

The main structure of the basket filter includes parts such as the filter housing and the filter basket. Its housing is usually made of materials such as stainless steel and carbon steel to ensure that it can withstand a certain pressure and has good corrosion resistance. Just like the housings of other precision filters (for example, the housings of common precision filters are made of 304 or 316 stainless steel, carbon steel lined with rubber, or engineering plastics), it plays the role of protecting the internal structure and withstanding the system pressure. The filter basket is the core filtration component. It is generally made of metal mesh or porous materials, similar to the filter element in a precision filter, and is the key to achieving the function of intercepting impurities.

When the fluid containing impurities enters the basket filter, the working process officially begins. The fluid to be filtered flows in from the inlet of the filter and, driven by pressure, enters the inside of the filter basket. At this time, the fluid needs to pass through the filter screen of the filter basket, and the filter screen has a specific pore size. According to the principle of sieving action, just like the interception of fluid impurities by the filtration medium in a chemical precision filter, impurities such as solid particles, suspended solids, and colloidal particles larger than the pore size of the filter screen will be blocked outside the filter screen and cannot pass through it, thus being trapped inside the filter basket. Impurities smaller than the pore size of the filter screen and the clean fluid can smoothly pass through the filter screen and flow out from the outlet of the filter, completing the filtration process.

As the filtration continues, the impurities trapped inside the filter basket will continue to accumulate. Just like the increase in filtration resistance caused by the accumulation of impurities during the filtration process in a precision filter, the increase in impurities in the basket filter will also gradually increase the resistance of the fluid passing through the filter screen. When it accumulates to a certain extent, the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the filter will increase significantly. At this time, the filter basket needs to be cleaned or replaced to restore the normal filtration performance of the filter. Generally, you can open the inspection hole of the filter, take out the filter basket, clean the impurities inside it, or directly replace it with a new filter basket. The operation is relatively simple.
  The working principle of the basket filter makes it suitable for a variety of different working conditions and fluids. In the chemical industry, it can be used to filter various chemical raw materials to ensure the purity of the raw materials entering the production process and avoid the impact of impurities on the production process and product quality; in industries such as petroleum and natural gas, it can pre - treat the fluid to remove the particulate impurities in it and protect the normal operation of subsequent equipment. It can also be applied to industries with high requirements for hygiene and purity, such as food processing and pharmaceuticals.
