Spray drying converts liquid fermentation products (bacterial cells, metabolites, enzymes, etc.) into stable powders in one step and is mainly applied to the following types of products:

  1. Microbial Agents (Bacterial Powders)

  • Probiotics: This is the most classic application. The fermentation broth of probiotics such as lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria is centrifugally concentrated and then mixed with protective agents (such as skim milk powder, oligosaccharides, and trehalose) for spray drying.
