Validity Period of the UN38.3 Report for Lithium Batteries
Almost all potassium batteries must pass Section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria to ensure their safety during transport.
UN38.3 reports do not require annual renewal, but air and sea transport certificates do. Validity Period: December 31st of the calendar year.
I. Which Batteries Require UN38.3:
1. Various lead-acid batteries (such as automotive starting lead-acid batteries, stationary lead-acid batteries, small valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, etc.)
2. Various power secondary batteries (such as power vehicle batteries, electric road vehicle batteries, power tool batteries, hybrid vehicle batteries, etc.)
3. Various mobile phone batteries (such as lithium-ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, etc.)
4. Various small secondary batteries (such as laptop batteries, digital camera batteries, camcorder batteries, various cylindrical batteries, wireless communication batteries, portable DVD batteries, CD and MP3 player batteries, etc.)
5. Various primary batteries (such as alkaline zinc-manganese batteries, lithium-manganese batteries, etc.)
II. Documents Required for Lithium Battery UN38.3 Certification Testing
1. Application Form (Fill in battery information)
2. Battery Specifications
3. Cell Specifications
4. Test Samples (The sample nameplate must indicate the model and watt-hour parameters, and must be consistent with the battery shipped).
If a Shipment Conditions Identification Report (for air/sea/land transport) is required, the following documents are also required.
5. Letter of Authorization, Shipping Declaration, and other relevant documents.
6. Packaging Images (Outer packaging, opened outer packaging, inner packaging)
