Application Process for an FCC ID for an Action Camera
Application Process for an FCC ID for an Action Camera
Action cameras are designed to record action, often from the athlete's first-person perspective. They require a compact, rugged design with high protective properties. Users typically prefer video capture over stills, and are often attached to sports equipment or the human body for recording. Action cameras offer a variety of features: compact and portable, 4K HD video, waterproofing up to 50 meters, and a wealth of accessories. With diverse perspectives, they transform your photography style. Whether skiing, cycling, hiking, mountaineering, surfing, diving, or simply enjoying everyday family activities, outdoor action cameras allow you to capture lasting moments anytime, anywhere.
Action cameras exported to the United States require FCC certification. As wireless products, they are tested according to FCC ID categories. Zhongjiantong Testing Agency has the appropriate laboratories to perform these tests. Please contact our staff for details on FCC certification for action cameras.
FCC certification is a mandatory EMC certification in the United States, primarily for electronic and electrical products operating in the 9kHz-3000GHz frequency range. It covers all aspects of radio and communications, particularly radio interference issues for wireless communication equipment and systems, including radio interference limits and measurement methods, as well as certification systems and organizational management systems.
Application Process and Methods for an Action Camera FCC ID:
To apply for an FCC ID, you must first obtain a FRN, which is used to fill in other information. If this is your first FCC ID application, you will also need to apply for a permanent Grantee Code. Laboratories awaiting FCC approval and issuing a Grantee Code should promptly test the device. Once all required FCC documents are prepared and the test report is complete, the FCC should have approved the Grantee Code.
Applicants use this code, the test report, and the required documents to complete FCC Form 731 and Form 159 online. The FCC will begin processing certification applications after receiving Form 159 and payment. The average processing time for the FCC ID application is approximately 30 days. Upon completion of the application process, the FCC will mail the applicant an Original Grant FCC ID. Once the applicant receives the certificate, they can sell or export the corresponding product.
