Bluetooth Headset NBTC Certification Process
What is NBTC Certification in Thailand?
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the regulatory body for wireless and telecommunications regulations in Thailand, requires NBTC certification for all wireless and telecommunications products before they can enter the market.
Telecommunications equipment sold in Thailand is regulated by the NTC and is divided into three groups:
Class A: Registration
Class B: Approval Certification
SDoC: Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity
Class A Approval: Products must undergo testing at an NTC-designated laboratory and provide the required data before obtaining a registration number and certification certificate.
The Class B Approval certification process is the same as for Class A products, except that foreign certification reports such as FCC, CE, and CB certification can be used for transfer certification. A registration number and certification certificate are also required.
The Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) certification for this product is voluntary. The customer's local representative in Thailand must complete the SDoC form and submit it along with technical documentation to the NTC for review.
Thailand's NBTC certification covers the following products:
RF/Telecom, mobile, phone, equipment terminal or concerning telecommunications.
Thailand's NBTC Certification Label
The NBTC has no specific labeling requirements.
The draft of the new product certification label introduces NBTC's electronic labeling (e-labeling) and proposes to change the NBTC labeling from free to paid. (All labels must be purchased from NBTC; self-printing is not permitted. The cost is one Thai baht per label.)
Thailand's NBCT Certification Application Process
1. Provide product specifications and user manuals.
2. Customer completes the test application form and provides product information.
3. Confirm test standards and arrange for baseline testing.
4. Customer makes product corrections and arranges for testing.
5. Upon completion of testing, arrange for a draft report.
6. The customer confirms the report information, confirms it's OK, and issues a stamped report.
7. Key Points: Apply for NBTC certification using the CE report + Thailand Deviation.
