Steel H Beam & H Beam,Q235B / SS400 / A36、Q355B / S355JR / A572 Gr50、Q235NH、Q355NH
1. Product Overview
H section steel, also known as wide-flange H beam, is a high-efficiency economical load-bearing section steel. Its cross-section consists of parallel equal-thickness flanges and a vertical web; both flanges are flat without inclination, with large biaxial moment of inertia and superior bending & compression resistance compared with I-beams and channel steel. It is divided into hot rolled H section steel and welded H section steel, classified by flange width ratio into HW wide-flange, HM medium-flange, HN narrow-flange and HP pile H section steel. Three surface finishes are available: hot rolled black scale, pickled finish and hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion coating. Featuring light self-weight, high bearing capacity and easy construction, it is widely applied in high-rise steel structure workshops, building beams & columns, bridges, wind turbine tower supports, dock foundation piles, heavy equipment bases, municipal viaducts and other heavy load-bearing projects.

3.3 Standard Fixed Length: 6m, 9m, 12m; customized random lengths 3–15m available
3.4 Dimensional Tolerance
Height, flange width, web & flange thickness, flatness and flange parallelness strictly comply with GB/T11263; galvanized coating thickness 45–85μm
3.5 Surface Types
Hot rolled black scale: Raw oxide surface with lowest cost for subsequent painting anti-corrosion
Pickled bright finish: Oxide scale removed, clean surface for direct painting & welding
Hot-dip galvanized finish: Thick sealed zinc coating for long-term rust prevention in buried, coastal and open-air environments
3.6 Size Marking Format: H Height × Flange Width × Web Thickness × Flange Thickness (Example: HN400×200×8×13)
4. Complete Production Process
4.1 Hot Rolled H Section Steel Process
Continuous casting slab heated to 1100–1250℃ → Multi-pass integrated H-section rolling via universal mill → Natural cooling on cooling bed → Special straightener to correct distortion & bending → Cut to fixed length → Shot blasting / pickling / hot-dip galvanizing (on request) → Full inspection, marking spraying & bundling
4.2 Welded H Section Steel Process
Steel plate blanking & cutting → Web & flange assembly + automatic submerged arc welding → Post-weld deformation straightening → Ultrasonic weld inspection → Finish machining, anti-corrosion treatment, inspection & warehousing
5. Mandatory Factory Inspection Items
Spectral composition analysis: Strict control of C, Mn, S, P impurities to match strength grades
Mechanical performance test: Room-temperature tensile, high & low temperature impact, 180° cold bending without cracks or lamination
Weld ultrasonic testing (for welded H beams): 100% UT inspection to detect internal slag, pores and weld cracks
Full sectional dimensional inspection: Height, flange width, web & flange thickness, flatness, flange parallelism
Special galvanized coating test (for galvanized H beams): Zinc coating weight, coating adhesion, neutral salt spray resistance duration
Visual surface inspection: Free of cracks, scabs, lamination, distortion, missing plating and rust spots
6. Main Application Fields
Industrial Construction: Single & multi-story steel structure factories, beams & columns of heavy workshops, main roof beams, load-bearing columns for equipment
High-rise Civil Buildings: Steel frames of office towers & residential buildings, basement supports, main structures of large exhibition venues
