1. Product Overview

Carbon steel wire is manufactured from hot rolled wire rod via pickling & phosphating, multi-pass cold drawing, annealing and surface anti-corrosion treatment, only carbon & low alloy carbon steel are adopted without stainless steel. It is divided into four series by carbon content: low carbon wire, medium carbon wire, high carbon spring wire and high tensile prestressing wire. By surface finish, it includes black annealed wire, hard drawn wire, hot-dip galvanized wire, electro-galvanized wire and PVC coated wire. Round wire is mainstream, with flat, square and helical rib special-shaped wire as alternatives. It balances ductility, tensile strength and weldability, widely used in construction binding, wire mesh weaving, spring manufacturing, bridge prestressing, fence protection, hardware fasteners and steel wire rope raw materials.

5. Complete Production Process

Hot rolled wire rod uncoiling → Pickling to remove mill scale → Phosphating & saponification lubrication → Multi-pass cold drawing to reduce diameter → Intermediate annealing (for soft wire & spring wire) → Hot-dip galvanizing / electro-galvanizing / PVC coating → Tension straightening → Coiling / fixed-length cutting → Sampling mechanical test → Surface visual inspection → Steel strapping, moisture-proof paper wrapping & wooden pallet warehousing

6.2 Reference Mechanical Properties

  1. Low carbon annealed wire: Tensile 350–550MPa, Elongation ≥12%, repeatable bending performance

  2. Grade B spring wire: Tensile 1200–1600MPa, for low-load springs

  3. Grade D high-stress spring wire: Tensile 2000–2800MPa, for construction machinery & valve high-strength springs

  4. Low relaxation prestressing wire: Min tensile ≥1570/1860MPa, relaxation value ≤2.5%

6.3 Anti-Corrosion Index

Hot-dip galvanized neutral salt spray test 500–1500h; electro-galvanized 120–300h; PVC coated anti-UV for 5–10 years outdoor service

Free of cracks, burrs, lamination and rust pits; uniform zinc coating without missing plating or peeling; fine non-peeling mill scale for annealed wire
