Coarse Crushing Double Roller Crusher Equipment

1. Product Introduction
The Coarse Crushing Double Roller Crusher Equipment is a heavy-duty primary or secondary crushing machine designed to handle large feed sizes and break them down into manageable coarse fragments (typically 20 mm to 100 mm or larger). Unlike fine crushers that use smooth rollers, coarse roller crushers are almost always equipped with toothed, spiked, or grooved roller shells. This equipment is widely used in open-pit mining, coal preparation plants, aggregate quarries, and recycling facilities to process bulky, raw materials like run-of-mine coal, large limestone, oil shale, and unseparated clay-heavy ores.
2. Working Principle
Bulk Material Feeding: Large, raw blocks of material are dumped directly into the extra-wide hopper above the rollers.
Toothed Grip & Tear: Driven by independent, high-torque motors, the two massive rollers rotate inward toward each other at relatively low speeds. The large teeth or spikes protruding from the roller surfaces act like jaws—gripping, piercing, and tearing the bulky material.
Impact & Compression Crushing: As the material is dragged into the "nip zone," it is crushed through a combination of mechanical compression between the roller bodies and the shearing action of the interlocking teeth.
Free Discharge & Tramp Clearance: The fractured coarse material falls freely through the large clearance gap via gravity. If a massive uncrushable object (like a steel excavator tooth) falls in, the heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders instantly force one roller backward to let the object drop out safely, preventing catastrophic drivetrain damage before resetting.
3. Industrial Line Advantages
Exceptional "Biting" Ability on Large Feed: The prominent toothed design allows the machine to accept much larger feed sizes compared to smooth roller crushers, effectively bridging the gap between primary blasting and secondary processing.
Unmatched Performance with Sticky/Wet Material: Traditional primary crushers (like jaw crushers) frequently choke and stall when fed muddy or clay-heavy rock. The coarse roller crusher’s teeth actively rip through sticky materials, making it virtually immune to clogging and chamber packing.
High Throughput with Low Speed: Operating at a lower RPM with high torque allows the machine to crush massive volumes of material (often up to hundreds of tons per hour) while keeping mechanical wear and vibrations to a minimum.
Minimal Fines and Dust: Because it fractures rock along its natural lines of weakness using teeth rather than pulverizing it via high-speed kinetic impacts, it creates a clean, coarse aggregate with very low dust and unwanted fine waste.
Rugged, Low-Maintenance Design: Built for the harshest primary crushing environments, the heavy-duty segmented teeth can often be replaced or welded individually without removing the entire roller, drastically reducing maintenance downtime and costs.
