I. Product Description

The GE Multilin 489 series of medium and small-sized generator sets' integrated management protection relay, P5 represents the secondary rated 5A input of the current transformer, HI is the wide-range high-voltage AC/DC control power supply, A20 supports 4-20mA analog output, E is the enhanced liquid crystal display version. It integrates the complete set of main protection, measurement, temperature monitoring, fault recording, and remote communication functions for generators. It adopts a plug-in and withdrawable structure and is mainly used for the fault tripping, safety monitoring, parameter measurement of synchronous/ asynchronous generator sets in thermal power plants, hydropower plants, and self-owned power plants. Currently, the original factory has discontinued production, and it is a commonly used core protection spare part for old power station units.

Integrated complete set of generator professional protection: stator differential, 100% stator grounding, direction grounding overcurrent, negative sequence overcurrent, overvoltage / undervoltage, overfrequency / low frequency, overexcitation, loss of excitation, reverse power, locked rotor, thermal overload, VT break line, etc. Protection functions are reliable tripping within milliseconds to avoid generator burnout.

Supports RTD multi-point temperature collection, real-time monitoring of stator winding and front and rear bearing temperatures, early warning or tripping for overtemperature, achieving early protection of generator thermal faults.

High-precision electric metering, capable of collecting three-phase voltage, current, active power, reactive power, power factor, frequency, and electricity consumption parameters, and having measurement and control metering function.

Has fault recording, SOE event sequence recording, and massive fault event storage functions, supports waveform upload, facilitating accident cause analysis and traceability; built-in simulation debugging function, can locally verify protection set values.

Multi-protocol communication compatible with power plant SCADA, DCS systems, can remotely upload operation data, alarm information, and support remote protection set value modification, protection activation/deactivation operations.

Plug-in modular structure, the main device of the device and the terminal plug-in are separated, convenient for on-site spare parts replacement, significantly reducing the downtime for generator unit maintenance.
