Forensic Pathology Steel Wax Block Storage Unit Hospital Grade Individual Lock Per Drawer 390mm Height Stacking

Product Description

Pathology storage for forensic and medico-legal work isn't the same as hospital pathology.

Hospital specimen archives are about capacity and retrieval speed. Forensic pathology is about chain of custody. Every block is evidence. Access needs to be logged. Storage needs to be tamper-evident.

A standard pathology cabinet where anyone can pull open any drawer doesn't work for this.

We build wax block storage units for forensic and medico-legal use. The core difference: individual lock per drawer.

Individual lock per drawer — one key, one drawer.

390mm single unit height, 5 large drawers per unit, each with its own independent lock. When you access a specific batch of specimens, only that drawer is opened. The rest stay locked. Meets basic evidence custody requirements.

Cabinet body is cold-rolled steel, fully welded frame, powder-coated finish. Forensic specimens may have been through chemical processing — the cabinet needs to withstand corrosive environments.

515mm standard width, 450mm narrow-body also available.

Forensic labs are usually retrofitted into existing rooms, not built from scratch like hospital pathology departments. Irregular spaces are common. Both width options are available to fit the room.

4 units stacked: 1700mm total height (lockable version), or 1600mm (standard). Fits into evidence storage areas alongside filing cabinets and evidence lockers.

Cabinet numbering for traceability.

In addition to transparent label slots on each drawer front, numbered nameplates can be added — which cabinet, which drawer, which batch of specimens. Creates a complete access record. When forensic audit reports are required, this numbering system maps to the evidence custody workflow.

Modular stacking, configure as needed.

Individual units can be ordered separately. Forensic center just starting out with low specimen volume — start with 3 units. Volume grows — add another unit on top. No need to replace the entire cabinet setup.

FAQ

Q: What's the difference between a forensic wax block cabinet and a hospital one?

The locking structure, primarily. Standard hospital cabinets allow all drawers to be opened. Forensic/medico-legal use requires individual locks per drawer — access records need to be traceable and map to evidence custody protocols. Also, forensic labs are often in retrofitted spaces with irregular dimensions, so both width options need to be available.

Q: How many locks come with a lockable unit?

5 drawers per unit, one independent lock per drawer — 5 locks per unit. 4 units stacked: 20 locks total. Only authorized personnel hold keys for specific drawers. Access can be logged per drawer.

Q: Do the cabinets need to be numbered?

Recommended. We provide custom numbered nameplates — each cabinet and each drawer gets a unique ID. This maps to your access logging system. When forensic audit reports are required, this numbering ties to the evidence custody workflow.

Q: Can the 450mm narrow unit be used in forensic labs with irregular spaces?

Yes. The 450mm narrow body is designed exactly for retrofitted rooms with space constraints. Can be mixed and matched with 515mm standard units — both share 390mm unit height, so stacked units align.

Q: Can I order lockable units individually?

Yes. Lockable units can be ordered individually — no need to commit to a full set.

Q: What's the minimum order quantity?

Flexible MOQ on standard products — single units accepted. Forensic project orders are typically small volume — quote based on actual quantity needed.

Q: What's the lead time?

Standard units in stock. Custom units (including numbered nameplates, special locks) ship within 15-25 working days. Forensic projects usually have clear deadlines — delivery date confirmed before order.

Q: How is it packed for shipping?

Each unit in its own carton with shock-absorbing inserts. Bulk orders palletized for ocean freight. Both FOB and CIF pricing available. Forensic procurement typically processes through official accounts.

Suitable For
