The Woodward 9907-023 is primarily used to control engine or turbine speeds and ensure even power distribution during parallel operation.
1. Core Control Functions
* **Speed Control:** Receives signals from a magnetoelectric speed sensor (MPU) and adjusts the actuator output to precisely stabilize the engine speed at a set value.
* **Load Sharing:** When multiple generators are operating in parallel, it communicates with each other via load sharing lines to ensure that each generator shares the load proportionally to its capacity.
* **Ramp Control:** Allows setting the acceleration time from idle to rated speed, reducing mechanical shock and black smoke during startup.
* **Start Fuel Limiting:** Prevents excessive fuel supply during startup, protecting the engine and optimizing emissions.

Isochronous Mode: Maintains a constant frequency (speed) regardless of load changes.
