Woodward ESDR4 Current Differential Protection Relay
The core function of ESDR4 is to identify internal electrical faults by monitoring the current across the protected area. Three-phase differential current protection: It determines the presence of internal leakage or short circuits by measuring the vector sum of the currents flowing into and out of the protected equipment (such as generators and motors). High-sensitivity fault detection: It can quickly identify two-phase short circuits, three-phase short circuits, and ground faults. Selective tripping: It has extremely high selectivity, meaning it only trips for faults "within the protected area." If the fault occurs outside the protected area (such as on external lines), the relay will not trip, thus ensuring the stability of system operation and avoiding false tripping. Programmable configuration: Equipped with freely configurable output relays for alarm, indication, or triggering circuit breaker tripping. Fast response: The shortest response time is typically around 40ms, minimizing the damage to equipment caused by electrical faults.
