Woodward 8256-027 All-electric speed controller
The Woodward 8256-027 is an EPG 512 type 24V DC all-electric governor actuator. It adds fuel by counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation, with a total stroke of 30° and a maximum working capacity of 0.7J (0.5 ft-lb). It is suitable for precise fuel rack/valve control in small to medium-sized engines without mechanical/hydraulic drives and is commonly used in 24V system diesel/gas generator sets and power machinery.
Core Performance:
Power and Compatibility: Independent 24V DC electric drive, requiring no mechanical/hydraulic oil source. Compatible with 24V system prime movers and low-mass, low-friction fuel linkage mechanisms, simplifying design and maintenance.
Precise Stroke and Output: 30° total stroke, overtravel design ensures mechanical limit is reached; the recommended stroke from no-load to full-load is 2/3 of the total stroke, allowing for acceleration, deceleration, and stopping margins.
The output shaft is a 0.375"-36" SAE spline (both ends), compatible with standard fuel control linkages.
Control Adaptation: Receives PWM/proportional current signals from EPG controllers (such as the 8290 series), forming a closed loop with a magneto-electric speed sensor to achieve isochronous/droop speed regulation and start-up fuel limiting, reducing exhaust emissions and start-up overspeed.
Environment and Protection: Operating temperature -40℃ to +93℃, resistant to vibration and electromagnetic interference, IP54 protection rating (typical), suitable for harsh operating conditions.
Rotation Direction: Counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation adds fuel, adapting to the reverse operation logic of some fuel control mechanisms to meet the needs of special models.
