Woodward 8256-023 speed controller actuator
The Woodward 8256-023 is the 512 model all-electric governor actuator in the EPG (Electrically Powered Governor) series. It is designed for prime movers without mechanical drive or hydraulic power source, and is compatible with low-mass, low-friction fuel linkage mechanisms for precise isochronous speed regulation of diesel, gas and other engines.
Core Functions
Precise Speed Regulation: Achieves precise isochronous speed regulation of the prime mover, ensuring stable speed. 30° full stroke, maximum operating capacity 0.7J (0.5 ft-lb), suitable for low-load fuel systems.
Fuel Control: Precisely controls fuel supply by adjusting the fuel rack/valve position via electronic speed controller signals, adapting to start-up fuel limiting strategies to reduce emissions.
Flexible Stroke Setting: Overtravel design ensures that the prime mover's mechanical limits are reached.
Recommended stroke from no-load to full-load is 2/3 of the total stroke.
Includes stroke margin for acceleration, deceleration, and stopping.
Wide Environmental Adaptability: Operating temperature range -40℃ to +93℃, resistant to vibration and electromagnetic interference, suitable for harsh operating conditions.
Independent Electric Drive: No mechanical drive or hydraulic power source required, suitable for small to medium-sized engines without hydraulic systems.
Signal compatibility: Compatible with Woodward EPG electronic speed controllers (such as the 8290 series) and magnetoelectric speed sensors (MAG PICKUP) to form a complete closed-loop control system.
