Woodward 8256-024 All-electric speed controller
The Woodward 8256-024 is an EPG Series 512 all-electric governor actuator, powered by 24V DC, that adds fuel by counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation, with a total stroke of 30° and a maximum working capacity of 0.7J (0.5 ft-lb). It is suitable for precise control of fuel racks/valve in small to medium-sized engines without mechanical/hydraulic drives.
Core Performance
Power and Drive: 24V DC independent electric drive, requiring no mechanical/hydraulic oil source, suitable for prime movers without hydraulic systems, and compatible with low-mass, low-friction fuel-driven linkage mechanisms.
Precise Stroke and Output
Total stroke 30°, overtravel design ensures mechanical limit is reached.
It is recommended to use 2/3 of the total stroke for the no-load to full-load transition, allowing for acceleration, deceleration, and stopping margins.
The output shaft is a 0.375"-36" SAE spline (both ends), compatible with standard fuel control linkages.
Control Adaptation: Receives PWM/proportional current signals from Woodward EPG controllers (such as the 8290 series), forming a closed loop with a magneto-electric speed sensor to achieve isochronous/droop speed regulation and start-up fuel limiting control, reducing emissions.
Environment and Protection: Operating temperature -40℃ to +93℃, resistant to vibration and electromagnetic interference, IP54 protection rating (typical), suitable for harsh operating conditions.
Rotation Direction: Counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation adds fuel, adaptable to specific engine fuel system requirements.
