Generator Protection:
Monitors generator output voltage. If the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) fails, causing excessively high or low voltage, the relay will immediately trip to prevent damage to downstream loads or generator windings.

Used in substations to monitor bus voltage and ensure power quality meets standards.
Motor Protection:
Prevents motors from starting under undervoltage conditions (which would cause a surge in current and severe overheating) or operating under overvoltage conditions (which would break down insulation).
