Core Functions Introduction
The primary task of this equipment is to monitor the speed of the prime mover (such as a steam turbine, gas turbine, or engine) and immediately trigger a shutdown upon detecting dangerous overspeed.
Triple Redundancy Architecture (2-out-of-3): Internally, it contains three independent monitoring modules. Tripping is only triggered when at least two modules simultaneously detect overspeed. This design significantly reduces the probability of false tripping due to a single point of failure.
Rapid Response: Response time is typically between 10ms and 20ms, enabling instantaneous cutoff of fuel or steam supply to prevent equipment disintegration due to excessive centrifugal force.
Real-time Speed Monitoring: Speed frequency is read via a magnetoelectric speed sensor (MPU) or proximity switch and converted into a digital signal.
Self-Diagnosis and Online Testing: Allows functional testing of individual modules during machine operation without affecting overall machine operation, ensuring the system is always ready.
Event Logging: Built-in non-volatile memory records the speed, timestamp, and specific module status at the moment of tripping, facilitating accident tracing.
