Electrical products entering the EU (such as mobile phones, tablets, electric toys, and power tools) must comply with the requirements of the EU's new approach directives and bear the CE mark. Batteries, as accessories for many end products (such as mobile phones, electric toys, and tablets), require their safety to be considered in conjunction with these end products. Therefore, many end product customers, concerned about the safety of their own products, require that their components also bear the CE mark to better comply with the relevant directives.
Therefore, if exporting companies' battery products meet the EN62133 standard and bear the CE mark, their products will be more competitive in the market and help them secure a larger market share.
EN62133 Product Scope
Portable sealed secondary battery cells and batteries (packs) containing alkaline or non-acidic electrolytes
The EN62133 standard primarily covers testing and verification for the following items:
Cells: Continuous low-rate charging, vibration, temperature cycling, external short circuit, free drop, shock (collision), thermal
Misuse (thermal shock), extrusion, low pressure, overcharge, forced discharge, high-rate charge protection (lithium-based), labeling and packaging, improper installation (nickel-based).
Batteries: Vibration, case stress at high temperatures, temperature cycling, external short circuit, free drop, shock (collision), labeling and packaging, overcharge (nickel-based).
Documents required for EU CE certification of emergency power supplies and energy storage power supplies:
1. Submit product images and names, consult with the certification authority, and confirm test items and schedule.
2. Complete the application form and mail samples to the laboratory.
3. Sign the contract and make payment.
4. Laboratory engineer conducts testing.
5. Upon successful completion of the testing, the laboratory will issue a certificate/report.
6. Processing time: 5-7 business days, expedited.
